Organizations Filed Purposes: Using Shakespeare's works as a cornerstone, Shakespeare Dallas serves the Southwest region with fun and accessible indoor and outdoor theatre, integrated school programs, and cultural enrichment for people of all ages and backgrounds.

Outreach - Shakespeare Dallas expanded to new platforms including virtual events andpodcasts. The company also offered an additional streaming opportunity with its performance project Shakespeare and the Suffragists. Conceived and co-directed by Associate Artistic Director Jenni Stewart, the 30-minute work focuses on the role that Shakespeares heroines played in securing womens right to vote with the passage of the 19th Amendment.Shakespeare Dallas converted many of its adult enrichment programs to a virtual format. Its book club shifted online and has covered 6 plays through Zoom sessions since May 2020. The Company also hosted 12 virtual events covering topics ranging from Shakespeares sonnets to props and costume design.

Seasonal Productions - A full production of Pride and Prejudice was performed at Moody Performance Hall in January 2020. This beloved classic novel was adapted for the stage and was met with enthusiastic response from audiences.Due to the pandemic, all in person productions were canceled after March 2020 through the end of the year. Shakespeare Dallas pivoted quickly to develop new channels to serve the community. Serving audiences in these circumstances, especially students, ultimately inspired some of the Companys greatest creativity.

Education - Leveraging the expertise of internal staff, professional teaching artists and actors, Shakespeare Dallas launched several new initiatives to maintain continuity with the schools it serves. An all-new digital classroom resource, Will on the Web, launched April 2020 and reached 2,500 students in 2020. Will on the Web is an expanded virtual classroom, offering comprehensive learning tools covering 6 of Shakespeares greatest plays. A digital version of Shakespeare Unlocked was also created. This educational digital program covered the literary aspects of Shakespeare, including styles of verse and prose, character development, vocabulary and history. In doing so, Shakespeare Dallas was able to distribute the resource free to 16 schools, 11 of which have Title I status, with 2,000 students served.
