Teatro Dallas is committed to the cultural empowerment of the Latino community by representing our varied experiences, voices, and artistic expressions. Through high quality theatrical programming Teatro Dallas employs the power of theater to celebrate our diverse traditions while strengthening our community.
Theatrical Productions 2019: Teatro Dallas produced 3 main stage productions, a touring show and a series of community programs, in addition to classes for youth and adults. Main Stage shows included Fur by Migdalia Cruz, directed by Sorany Gutierrez presented at the Latino Cultural Center in March, Bongo Talks directed by Sorany Guiterrez and presented at the LCC in June, and Villa directed nu Sorany Gutierrez and presented at the LCC in October.
In May, June and July, TD produced and presented Tlali: When We Were Earth, a bilingual youth touring show at over 15 venues across North Texas:DFW/Irving/McKinney. TD produced Co-LAB, a series of community projects, which included a public art forum in October and a theater workshop for adults in September. In February and June, TD presented youth theater camps at Trinity River Audubon Center and West Dallas Community Center, in addition to bilingual theater classes for seniors throughout the year in West Dallas.
