Organizations Filed Purposes: TCA educates Texans about protecting the state's natural resources and builds alliances among a broad spectrum of the public interested in protecting wildlife habitat, water and other natural resources. The alliance holds outdoor events to connect people to nature.

Texas Alliance for America's Fish and Wildlife: Coordination of coalition with approximately 75 member organizations promoting increased funding for wildlife, in particular projects to keep Species of Greatest Conservation Need from becoming endangered. Responsibilities include: 1. Coordinating a steering committee of representatives from eight wildlife organizations and Teas Parks an Wildlife Department. 2. Supervising a contract staff person to support the coalition's work. 3. Drafting and editing flyers, press releases, power point presentations, social media, and other communications, and giving occasional presentations at workshops and meetings. 4. Organizing support for the Recovering America's Wildlife Act in Congress.

Protecting the Neches River: Education campaign to raise visibility for protecting the aquatic habitat and bottom-land hardwood forests of the Neches River corridor. Project includes: 1. Raising visibility for the importance of the river ecosystem. 2. Supporting designation of the STate Paddling Trails. 3. Improving recreational access to the river. 4. Building support for land acquisition for the Neches River Natl Wildlife Refuge. 5. Forming a 'Friends of the Refuge' group for the Neches River NWR. 7. Holding outdoor programs and giving programs to civic groups.

Collaborative project development under authority of the Healthy Forest Restoration Act: Project includes: 1. Locating and working with US Forest Service to protect sensitive ecosystems and key natural resources within timber harvesting and prescribed burning projects on national forest lands in Texas. 2. Identifying and documenting areas of the national forests in Texas with significant plant communities and unique features and promoting proposals for resignation of those areas as Special Management Areas. 3. Commenting on a draft guidance documents, environmental assessments, and proposed management actions.
