Organizations Filed Purposes:
HTPRC provides support for women facing unplanned pregnancies. We give free pregnancy test, free ultrasounds, clothing formula, diapers, and other supplies. We refer them to other resources like adoption agencies, etc. We give computer-assisted classes and hold chat sessions for clients.
The primary program services provided by HTPRC are peer-to-peer counseling of women facing unplanned pregnancies, referrals to other services within the community, including adoption, consumable supplies for the babies (primarily diapers, formula, and baby wipes), baby and maternity clothing, pregnancy test for self administration , and ultra sound images of the developing babies taken by a licensed stenographer. Our clients hail from the one of the poorest areas of town.
Women who become clients of HTPRC are offered participation in an incentive-driven, computer-based education program that provides training and information regarding their pregnancy from prenatal to post-natal. For completing lessons, the women earn 'mommy money' that they can redeem for necessities for their babies - e.g. strollers, car seats, play pens and cribs. These are items the women often would go without or depend on family or friends for hand-me-downs.
