FOR 40 YEARS, GIRLS INCORPORATED OF TARRANT COUNTY HAS FULFILLED OUR MISSION TO INSPIRE GIRLS TO BE STRONG, SMART AND BOLD THROUGH LIFE-CHANGING PROGRAMS AND EXPERIENCES THAT HELP GIRLS NAVIGATE GENDER, ECONOMIC, AND SOCIAL BARRIERS. OUR AFFILIATE, WHICH PARTNERS WITH THE NATIONAL GIRLS INCORPORATED, THE NATIONS LEADING VOICE FOR GIRLS, OFFERS ACADEMIC, LEADERSHIP, PREVENTION, AND MENTORING PROGRAMS TO GIRLS IN GRADES K-12 AND THEIR FAMILIES. WE PROVIDE PROGRAM SERVICES AT OVER 60 SCHOOL SITES AND COMMUNITY CENTERS IN THE CITIES OF FORT WORTH, ARLINGTON, CROWLEY AND SURROUNDING TARRANT COUNTY CITIES. THROUGH THE TARRANT COUNTY KIDS PROGRAM, THE AGENCY PROVIDES SAFE, AFFORDABLE CHILD CARE IN ARLINGTON ISD SCHOOLS. GIRLS INC. PRIORITIZES REACHING THE MOST UNDERSERVED YOUTH AND THE MAJORITY OF OUR PROGRAM PARTICIPANTS ARE FROM LOW-INCOME FAMILIES WITH HOUSEHOLD EARNINGS OF LESS THAN $30,000 ANNUALLY. IN 2018,

Girls Inc. programs empower girls in kindergarten through 12th grade to navigate gender, social, and economic barriers to grow into healthy, educated, independent adults. In 2018, the agency provided life-changing programs to 23,477 girls. Key programs addressed reading literacy, STEM education, pregnancy and substance abuse prevention, healthy relationships, media and economic literacy, health and wellness, violence prevention, youth leadership, and college and career readiness. 443 volunteers contributed 2,666 hours.
Child care programs are safe and affordable child care for children ages 5-12 years old before and after school during the school year at nine Arlington ISD schools and all-day holiday and summer child care in two Arlington locations. Fees for these programs are determined by each family's ability to pay with sliding scale fees and scholarships available.
