HELP conducts HIV Prevention activities including HIV testiing and linkage to care, Condom Distribution and HIV community engagement. A total of 1,419 HIV tests were conducted in 2019 for individuals at high risk of HIV acquisition. In 2019, 20 individuals were newly diagnosed with HIV and 100% of those individuals were linked with HIV primary care services. A total of 92,712 free condoms were distributed through 30 community distribution locations where at high risk of HIV acquisition were most likely to be reached. A total of 21,258 individuals were directly reached through our community mobilization program through 35 separate events/activties. 127 community partners joined HELP in the community mobilization program. .
HELP served 1,152 patients at high risk of HIV acquisition through the HELP Clinic. 5,542 patient visits performed. 53% of patients were uninsured, 55% were ethnic minorities and 68% were under 35 years old.
Establish the HELP Center Fellowship for LGBT Health to expand research and increase access to health care with the TCU and UNTHSC School of Medicine.
