THE ORGANIZATION IS DEDICATED TO THE COMPREHENSIVE NEUROLOGICAL REHABILITATION OF AMERICA'S VETERANS WHO HAVE SUFFERED FROM BRAIN AND SPINAL INJURY. USING INNOVATIVE ROBOTIC TECHNOLOGY AND VIRTUAL REALITY, NRAS AIMS TO SET A NEW PRECEDENT OF NEUROLOGICAL CARE AND PUBLISH RESEARCH ON ITS FINDINGS USING NEW TECHNOLOGY.
TO PROVIDE COMPREHENSIVE NEUROLOGICAL CARE TO VETERANS WITH BRAIN AND SPINAL INJURY USING INNOVATIVE ROBOTIC TECHNOLOGY AND VIRTUAL REALITY.
EXPENSES FOR THE NRAS PROJECT ARE PRIMARILY SALARIES FOR THERAPISTS AND RENTAL COSTS FOR THE TECHNOLOGY USED IN PATIENT CARE. BECAUSE THE PRESIDENT OF NRAS OWNS THE BUILDING AND EQUIPMENT USED FOR THE REHABILITATION PROGRAM, RENTAL COSTS, BOTH FOR OCCUPANCY AND EQUIPMENT, ARE SUBSIDIZED TO ALLOW THE ORGANIZATION TO MORE EFFICIENTLY FUND ITS MISSION. NRAS IS UNIQUE IN ITS ABILITY TO PROVIDE COMPREHENSIVE NEUROLOGICAL REHABILITATION, DIFFERENT FROM OTHER CLINICS IN ITS ABILITY TO MAINTAIN DIVERSE TREATMENTS WITHIN A SPECIALTY OF MEDICINE. PROGRAMS ARE TAILORED TO INCORPORATE THE THEORY OF NEURAL PLASTICITY, AND THERAPISTS STRUCTURE TREATMENT PLANS AROUND GOAL-ORIENTED THERAPY AND USE MODALITIES SUCH AS NEUROMODULATION AND VIRTUAL STIMULI TO PROMOTE FORMATIONS OF NEW SYNAPTIC PATHWAYS IN PATIENTS' BRAINS.
