Transitional Housing-Providing safe clean transitional housing for the Women in the ODWIN program is an essential need for our clients. The Women are destitute without means or a stable support system once released from Prison and our organization is a safe option for helping them with a safe stable environment with it's structured 12 month programs that when followed will show them how to live independently and responsibility, individual recovery and spiritual counseling resources, personal finance management. Clothing, personal items, and Food available.
Nehemiah Project - Providing Case Management, equipping our clients and the community with resources necessary for obtaining employment. Resume writing skills, job search skills, Interview coaching, work search assistance. Prior to COVID19 participating with the Texas Department of Criminal Justice-Reentry and Integration Division job fairs quarterly. Fairs have been placed on hold by the TDCJ.
Como Community Garden is program where ODWIN partners with the Como community Churches and other organizations to bring fresh vegetables for the seniors in the community. ODWIN takes the approach that if we can teach the community the importance of healthy eating and how it will help to combat diabetes and hypertension. The harvest from the garden is given to the community and our clients. Volunteer groups from the schools, colleges, Churches, and the Como community contribute to the care of the the garden. The Monarch Garden provides a peaceful place for individual in the community to come and read, meditate, and relay.
