A Christian international para-church mission ministry governed by Biblical truth that sends and supports missionaries and indigenous ministers to carry out the Gospel of Jesus Christ to make disciples of all nations. We equip and train Church leaders & live out compassionate care for the poor and needy of the world caring for orphans, widows and needy as God enables us with a focus on our Mercy Ministries-AFM Africa mission under the Bys Family missionaries in Kenya.
Mercy Ministries-AFM Africa is our primary mission where we are serving the poor and needy in western Kenya with our commissioned missionaries Jeff and Stephanie Bys and 7 of their children. In 2020 we have taken in more at risk children into both our Mercy Children's Home and our Mercy Christian Academy and expanded our services to the local community to advert starvation and serious crisis in the heat of the Covid-19 lockdown. We operated a large cooked food program as well as food bag program from our Mercy Baptist Church Pavilion and grounds to meet the crisis need of many poor who were without means to eat. Our requests for help were met with much generosity from our donor base and we exceeded our expectations to provide for the poor during that most serious time of the Covid Crisis in Kenya. While schools were closed we were able to take advantage of that time to do many campus improvements for the Church, School and Mercy Home areas through a few large and generous donors who provided us the capital needed. Also we undertook our largest ever single item fundraiser or $35,000 to help us buy land next to our campus and build a large campus playground that we not only fully funded through generous donors, but also built and opened up in December for all our campus children! With over 100 children living on campus this was a crucial need to allow the children more place to have fund and expend their energy and bring more joy into their lives. The list of accomplishments are to numerous for this format so we invite all who wish to see all we did at Mercy Ministry to visit this link to our 2020 year in review we put out for all to see. https://afm.ngo/presidents-blog/2020-review
Our Legacy About-Face Missions work while winding down in scope from what we did years before, still we helped many poor Church pastors and ministries throughout the year and we made effort to help a little more due to the Covid Crisis. The largest portion consisted of us facilitating Jim Clark's Sharon Bible School and tract ministry which supports many pastors with basic needs to print Bible lessons and Gospel tracts. That totaled $21,431 in material support to these poor pastors in Africa and Philippines primarily.
Then among our legacy About-Face Missions supported ministries in India Pastors ManiKumar Gude with his AFM orphans and Church, and pastor Sudhir Lal dalit child mission, and Pastor Munir Sujid Church in Pakistan and Pastor Ram Bahadur Gospel Church and orphan care in Nepal we sent along $14,465 in material aid to help them with their orphan care, their Church operations and medical and other urgent needs.
