Organizations Filed Purposes: The Bishop John E. Hines Center for Spirituality and Prayer seeks to facilitate knowledge of and relationship with God by nurturing spirituality through spiritual practices, prayer, and opportunities for both Christian and interfaith lecture and conversation.

The Hines Center strives to foster growth and development through mind and body wellness programs. The Hines Center offers free and affordable movement classes such as Yoga, mindfulness and meditation classes and workshops. Physical Movement: Meditative Movement Movement to music with the intention of expressing the sacred. A spiritual connection to the Divine through full body prayer. Christian liturgical dance is a well-known form of sacred movement. Yoga An ancient physical, mental and spiritual practice that aims to transform body and mind. Yoga incorporates both physical poses as well as breathing awareness practice to encourage heightened spiritual consciousness. Tai Chi/Qi Qong An ancient Chinese form of exercise described as meditation in motion that promotes serenity and spiritual growth through gentle, flowing movements.Contemplative Practices: Spiritual Development Classes and Discussions - Courses and trainings to help individuals develop and practice the skills necessary to live a spiritually aware life. Meditative Art - Art as a form of prayer offers a way to experience God through the act of creating. Labyrinth - An indoor meditative walk along a path that has a center. It is not a maze; it is a path of prayer with a releasing as one enters, a receiving as one stands in the center, and a returning as one walks out. In ancient times when one could not travel to Jerusalem, the labyrinth was a symbolic way to make the holy pilgrimage. Lectures and Film Events - These events encompass a wide variety of spiritual topics from intellectual exploration of Christian practices and sacred texts to events that promote interfaith dialogue. Spiritual Spaces: Library A multi-use area which allows visitors to delve deeper into the ancient practice and learn more about the ways in which those practices can strengthen their connections to God. Prayer Room A room whose aesthetics create an atmosphere that is insulated from the sounds of the outside world. Open Classroom Space Meeting spaces for study groups, book clubs, and practice group gatherings.
