Organizations Filed Purposes:
Perpetuate the memory and spirit of the men and women who achieved and maintained the Independence of Texas.
EDUCATIONAL OUTREACH: Organization awards scholarships each year during the San Jacinto Day Commemorative Ceremony at the San Jacinto Monument, San Jacinto Battleground State Historic Site. Scholarships assist graduating high school students in the Greater Metropolitan Area of Houston. Applicants must meet certain academic criteria to apply and their high school experience must exemplify certain standards.
MEMBERSHIP ACTIVITIES: Organization serves approximatley 300 Members. Membership meetings are held 9 months a year. Topics of historical interest relating to Texas history are presented. One field trip a year visits a historical site. A Newsletter is published 10 times a year, and the organization hosts a webpage. A Yearbook & Roster is published annually, and a historical scrapbook is maintained.
ASSISTANCE TO ORGANIZATIONS: Contributions are made to other non-profit organizations including the Texas State DRT, and other historical groups.
