Organizations Filed Purposes: Our mission is to enhance the lives of children admitted into a hospital for a prolonged amount of time.

Dec My Room, Inc. decorates and personalizes the hospital rooms of children who have cancer. These children have been admitted to the hospital for bone marrow transplants, intensive chemotherapy, or other therapies requiring prolonged hospitalization (3 weeks or longer). Dec My Room purchases decorations and a few toys and games that reflect the child's unique personality and interests. Dec My Room volunteers, wearing our blue aprons, take the decorations and gifts and transform the child's hospital room into a special place decorated just for that child. The child takes their gifts home. Dec My Room is based in Houston, TX and has affiliates in Boston, MA; Chattanooga, TN; Cleveland, OH; Dallas, TX; Ft. Worth, TX; Los Angeles, CA; Nashville, TN; Holmdel, NJ; New Orleans, LA; New York, NY; San Francisco, CA. Other locations without a Chapter Director are managed through Houston.In 2020, Houston decorated 50 rooms among 7 hospitals (Texas Children's, MD Anderson, HealthBridge, Children's Memorial Hermann, Shriners Medical Center, Shriners Galveston, and Methodist Children's). Dallas decorated 43 rooms at Children's Health. San Francisco Bay Area decorated a total of 48 rooms among 4 hospitals (UCSF Benioff Children's, UCSF Davis, UCSF Oakland, LCH and Kaiser Permanente Santa Clara). Los Angeles decorated 25 rooms between 4 hospitals (Los Angeles at Children's Hospital, Kaiser Permanente, UCI, City of Hope). Cleveland decorated 112 rooms among 3 hospitals (Cleveland Clinic Children's, MetroHealth, and Children's Rehab). New York decorated rooms at Montefiore Children's and Mount Sinai. Chattanooga at Erlanger decorated 7 rooms. New Jersey at Hackensack Children's decorated 20 rooms. Fort Worth, TX at Cook Children's decorated 7 rooms. Nashville at Centennial Children's decorated 6 rooms. New Orleans decorated 6 rooms between Ochsner Children's and Children's NOLA. Chicago decorated 18 rooms between 5 hospitals (Central DuPage Northwestern, La Rabida, Marianjoy Rehab, Robert H. Lurie and Shriners Hospital). DC National decorated 16 rooms. Florida at Joe DiMaggio and Palm Beach decorated 16 rooms total. Blank Children's in Iowa decorated 4 rooms. Prisma in South Carolina decorated 1 room. Oklahoma decorated 4 rooms.In 2020 5 hospitals were added, including City of Hope; Los Angeles Shriner's Hospital for Children; Chicago Robert H. Lurie Children's; Chicago St. Louis Children's; and UVA Children's Hospital.
