Organizations Filed Purposes:
Gateway Academy serves 6th12th graders who have learning differences that impact social, academic, and critical thinking skills. We provide an environment that prepares students to enter the workplace and college settings with confidence, both socially and educationally. Our population of learning differentiated students is encouraged to develop critical thinking, enhance personal appreciation and foster a vision of their future self.
Gateway Academy serves 6th-12th grade students with social and academic challenges through innovative approaches to learning, physical fitness, and social awareness.
School - Gateway's 6th-12th grade curriculum integrates academic achievement with the social and physical development of each student. Our students practice and apply social skills in real life situations each day. Our licensed counselor guides and encourages relationship-building in a safe environment. Our fitness program enables Gateway students to develop lifestyle patterns that will support their future learning and growth. Finally, we support our community through community service each month. In the 2019-2020 school year, Gateway had 75 students, 32 staff members and 8 graduates.
Advance Immersive Transition Program ("Advance") - This program is focused on supporting young adults with social and learning differences toward a path of social and economic independence. Advance includes training and oversight in the key areas of independent living skills, career training, and lifestyle fitness as well as secondary education, tutoring, and support. All students enjoy access to our unique quest social adventure and integration program. Advance offers psychological counseling, speech, employment coaching, and weekly goal-oriented advising, each led by passionate, experienced professionals. We are committed to empowering young adults to self-advocate and determine their life's course in ways that will be beneficial to themselves and the community. The 2019-2020 Advance program had 8 students and 5 teachers.
