Good Reason Houston partners with local school districts to drive district transformation, expand educator pipelines, advance equitable access to great schools, and engage families and communities in the design of solutions that best fit their childrens needs.
Accelerate District Transformation analyzes student achievement data, consults national research, and studies outcomes from evidence-based practice. Using this information, Good Reason Houston partners with independent school districts and public charter school districts to improve existing schools, support the introduction of new school models, and provide strategic consulting to district leadership teams with the aim of increasing the number of A&B schools in their districts.
Engage Families and Communities seeks to ensure family and community voices and needs are at the center of all district and school improvements. To better understand parent perspectives, Good Reason Houston interviews and surveys parents and community members as well as conveys their sentiments to education decision-makers. Good Reason Houston also partners with other organizations to fuel community advocates who demand high-quality schools.
Expand Educator Pipeline works to ensure every school is filled with game-changing educators. Through developing new teacher and principal pipelines and identifying and supporting partnerships with high quality professional development providers, Good Reason Houston aims to improve teacher and principal preparation and on-going support to increase their impact on students across Houston.
