Organizations Filed Purposes:
The mission of Homes With Hope is to care for abused and neglected children by placing at risk children identified by the state into licensed and trained foster families.
Foster/Adoption program:Assists families to provide permanency, nurturance, emotional security and a life-long sense of connection for children who could not be raised in their birth families. Increases the health, safety and stability of children who are victims of abuse, neglect and homelessness. This is accomplished by providing adoptive parental preparation and support through the legal and child welfare systems. Qualified caseworkers ensure that individualized age-appropriate services are provided to help children heal from trauma and overcome developmental gaps. This year 10 children who have been waiting for permanency were adopted. The program also provided support services for 34 families.
Training program:Assists families who want to foster and/or adopt childrn who were abused and/or neglected and are currently in the custody of the child welfare system. This is accomplished by providing individualized orientations and an intensive pre-service training program. Families continuing with the licensing process received additional training provided by qualified professionals.Continuing education was provided quarterly for licensed parents.11 families completed the pre-service training program, 5 families completed the training to become respite parents and 26 families received continuing education.
Continuing Education and Development program:Homes with Hope is committed to raise awareness and education about the needs of children who have been abused, abandoned or neglected. Reaching out to many area churches and leaders, we advocate for children in foster care as well as recruit new foster and adoptive families, holding information and orientation meetings. Through this network of relationships we encourage the development of a community committed to provide support for our families and the children they care for.
