Organizations Filed Purposes: HHCI's mission is to build and restore lives to health and wholeness through education, training, clinical services, and research that strengthen the physical, mental, spiritual, and relational health of families and individuals across the full cycle of life.

The Hope and Healing Center & Institute (HHCI) is a comprehensive faith-based mental health resource dedicated to transforming lives and restoring hope through education, training, clinical services, and research.

Gateway to Hope, HHCI's Community Engagement Program: HHCIs goal is to build a transformative and transferable model that increases the availability, accessibility, affordability, and acceptability of mental health care in Greater Houston and beyond. Through our outreach with Gateway to Hope, we are creating a mental health continuum of care through the use of a network of trained faith communities connected to our present system of providers. Gateway to Hope equips faith communities with mental health ministries that serve as open doors to the mental health system and offer peer-led supportive services.

Mental Health Coaching: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) - based Mental Health Coaching is an evidence and strengths-based support for individuals with mental and behavioral health difficulties or disorders. Using the Reimagine curriculum developed by HHCIs CEO Matthew S. Stanford, PhD, Mental Health Coaches partner with clients to help them establish a recovery plan, navigate mental health issues, maintain stability, develop a healthy balance, rebuild self-worth, and find purpose in life. Mental Health Coaches are licensed mental health professionals and 2nd year graduate student interns on the staff at HHCI.

Telepsychiatry: HHCI offers psychiatric assessment and care one day a week to clients who suffer from chronic persistent serious mental illness, such as major depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, and schizoaffective disorder, through video conference technology that links our clients to a psychiatric nurse practitioner working from a remote location. Like diabetes, these illnesses are incurable, but access to psychiatric medication enables our clients to manage their symptoms, increases the efficacy of our psychotherapeutic services, and ultimately improves the quality of their lives.
