Bayou Bend Collection and Gardens - a renowned collection of 17th, 18th & 19th century American antiquities displayed in the Hogg Mansion, is part of the Houston Museum of Fine Arts. Eighteen members volunteer to serve as docents for four hour shifts on Family Day, held one Sunday each month for nine months. This is the only time the collection is open to the public. Visitors come from around the world to view the fine collection of American antiquities.
Texas Children's Cancer Center at Texas Children's Hospital. All cancer & blood disorder patients are treated at the Hematology Laboratory in the Cancer Center. Twenty-three members work in this program at Texas Children's Hospital, and work three hour shifts monthly to proide volunteer support working the snow cone cart, art cart, information desk, holding babies in ICU, and much more.
Houston's Ronald McDonald House - provides a "home away from home" for families of seriously ill children being treated at the Texas Medical Center. Forty-three members work three hour shifts monthly at the house. Members staff the volunteer office where duties include taking & forwarding all business calls, registering children seeking treatment in the Texas Medical Center, checking families in and out of the house, preparing and serving lunches, and other responsibilities as they are assigned.
