INCREASE THE HIGH-SCHOOL GRADUATION RATE OF AT-RISK STUDENTS BY ENGAGING STUDENTS IN AN INNOVATIVE, STRUCTURED INSTRUCTIONAL PROGRAM FOCUSING ON BUSINESS AND ECONOMIC SUCCESS.
THE HIGH SCHOOL FOR BUSINESS AND ECONOMIC SUCCESS, AS AN ACCELERATED AND DROPOUT RECOVERY PROGRAM, WILL INITIALLY SERVE 150 DETERMINED HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS (GRADES 9-12) SEEKING TO OBTAIN A HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA UPON COMPLETION OF REQUIRED CREDIT COURSES. THE SCHOOL WILL PROVIDE A STRUCTURED EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM FOCUSING ON DIRECT INSTRUCTION, REMEDIATION, CREDIT RECOVERY, SUPPLEMENTAL RESOURCES, FLEXIBLE SCHEDULING, INNOVATIVE TECHNOLOGY AND STRONG ACADEMIC LEADERSHIP AND MANAGEMENT. THE CURRICULUM IS ALIGNED WITH TEKS AND FOLLOWS HISD CORE OBJECTIVES THAT INCLUDE PROGRESS MONITORING AND ASSESSMENTS FOR STUDENTS IN ADDITION TO ON-GOING STAFF DEVELOPMENT FOR ALL STAFF. THE HIGH SCHOOL FOR BUSINESS AND ECONOMIC SUCCESS WILL STRIVE TO PREPARE ALL STUDENTS FOR THE RAPIDLY GROWING AND CHANGING SOCIETY AND PREPARE THEM IN CAREERS WHERE THEY CAN BE PRODUCTIVE MEMBERS OF THE MODERN BUSINESS WORLD.
