Organizations Filed Purposes: Memorial Park Conservancy (MPC) is dedicated to the preservation and enhancement of Memorial Park for today and for future generations; to public use, enjoyment and education in accordance with conditions of the conveyance to the City of Houston.

The mission of the Memorial Park Conservancy is to restore, preserve and enhance Memorial Park for the enjoyment of all Houstonians, today and tomorrow.

Master Plan: - Opened Eastern Glades Phase 1- Initiated construction and ecological restoration of Eastern Glades Phase 2- Advanced design of Land Bridge and Prairie Restoration- Began design of Sports Complex Phase 1 and Park way-finding system

Park Programming & Operations: - Assumed operations of the Cullen Running Trail Center, creating a visitor services hub for Park Users- Grew staff to over 30 full-time employees and expanded equipment fleet needed to maintain park- Engaged over 1,500 volunteers through various opportunities on-site- Launched new programming for park users (food trucks, Yoga in the Park, Dog Adoption, Memorial Park 101, History Tours, Movie Nights, & Mental Health Awareness)- Resurfaced quarter-mile training track- Installed pollinator beds at the tennis center and Hogg Bird Sanctuary- Removed multiple hazard trees near trails and public spaces to be used in the BioCycle for composting- Refurbished, repaired, and cleaned the Vale-Asche Playground - Provided daily care including sanitation, janitorial services, turf care, horticultural care, public outreach, and ongoing programming

Ecological Restoration: - Advanced acre-by-acre landscape conversion as guided by the Master Plan. - Provided day-to-day care including invasive removal, hazard tree removal, tree inventory, bioassessment, and arboriculture to 1,100 acres. - Planted over 1,000 trees in January's Arbor Day in partnership with Trees for Houston. - BioCycle operation composted tree material from throughout the park, yielding 1,500 cubic yards of enriched soil for use in parkwide projects. - Native Plant Grow-Out Program staff and volunteers cultivated 60,000 difficult-to-source native species to be planted in project areas parkwide.
