THE SECOND BAPTIST SCHOOL FOUNDATION, IS ORGANIZED FOR THE PURPOSES OF ASSISTING AND CONTRIBUTING TO THE ACADEMIC, PHYSICAL GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT OF THE SECOND BAPTIST SCHOOL, A PRIVATE SCHOOL FOUNDED IN 1947 AND SITUATED IN HOUSTON, TX. TO THIS END, THE FOUNDATION IS EMPOWERED TO SOLICIT AND ACCEPT APPROPRIATE GIFTS AND BEQUESTS TO BE USED TO FURTHER SUCH PURPOSE, SPECIFICALLY INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE PROVISION OF FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE TO WORTHY STUDENTS OF THE SCHOOL.
The Athletic Development Project did not raise any capital in FY 2020; however, it spent $1,028,069. The money was used to update the gym facilities.
The Parents Association is the second largest service program. It is a parent volunteer group that supports the operations of the school. Sources of revenue are $25,500 from the annual campaign and the net proceeds of the Distinguished Speaker Luncheon which totaled $194,896. The Parents Association had expenses for the following: organizing the parent school coffee, providing the teacher appreciation lunches, purchasing coffee for the school workrooms, teacher Christmas bonuses, and salary increases. In addition, it is the umbrella organization that houses all parent volunteers.
The Annual Campaign raised $610,115. The funds were used in the following areas: operations, staff development, technology, scholarships, athletics, fine arts, Parents Association and benevolence.
