It affords a forum for the exchange of knowledge pertaining to research, practice, and education in abdominal radiology to stimulate investigation and teaching in the methods of preventing and treating diseases within the abdomen and pelvis. SAR enhances the study and practice of abdominal radiology by establishing lectureships, scholarships, and foundations in abdominal radiology; provides continuing medical education to community-based and academic-based radiologists through its annual course; and provides sponsorship for a variety of educational activities.
