Organizations Filed Purposes:
To strengthen the substainability & vibrancy of Houston's art sector by bolstering the capacity & professional practice of artists & arts organizations & enhancing the public's engagement with the arts.
Fiscal Sponsorship: Fresh Arts offers a Model C fiscal sponsorship program. As the fiscal sponsor, Fresh Arts provides fiduciary oversight, financial management, & other administrative services to help build the capacity of charitable projects. Fiscal sponsorship creates a new class of professional artists in Houston who, through the program, have a platform to recieve support for their work, the freedom to be innovative without excessive administrative burden, & the privilege to focus on their given area(s) of expertise. In 2019, Fresh Arts distributed $135,022 to 22 projects. Since the program's launch in 2013, Fresh Arts has helped 52 fiscally sponsored projects raise over $650,000 for Houston-based projects across multiple disciplines.
Arts District Houston: Fresh Arts is the managing partner of Arts District Houston & amplifies the District's ability to serve artists & the greater community through artist-centered initiatives that help build capacity, audiences & shared resources for the artists & creative businesses that compose the District.
Online Professional Development Resource Library: Fresh Arts provides on-demand web resources to enhance the marketing & promotion of artists' work & events as well as to strengthen artists' capacity to succeed in the business of art. Face-To-Face Professional Development Workshops: Fresh Arts' in-person career building workshops offer Houston's artists a "nuts and bolts" approach to their creative business. This includes Artist Inc, a series of cutting-edge training seminars that addresses the specific business needs artists of all disciplines face.
