St.John Northwest Church is an intergenerational family of believers and followers of Jesus Christ. We are drawn together around four foundational values:Word, Worship,Community and Lifestyle Evangelism. We desire to make a difference through Lifestyle Evangelism.
2018 was our first full year in existence. We were able to find a home for our church through the rental of space. This required major leasehold improvements. Additionally, the weekly church and bible study was established.In the year 2019, we were able to complete leasehold improvements to our building.
City of Houston Adopt A Park Program-Through this initiative we were able to adopt a local park that was in severe disrepair,taken over by drug dealers and drug activity.Not only did we thoroughly clean the park by picking up trash and weed-eating, we also painted playground equipment and replaced broken park benches.This is an on-going initiative.During our Community Party In The Park initiative, we rented amusement rides for the entire day and the community enjoyed a variety of baseball, volleyball, basketball and face painting. The intent of the interactive sports was to get to know the members of the community better, discuss community safety and to share the gospel message. Concessions were also sponsored by the church in the form of hot hogs, chips, popcorn, snow cones, soft drinks and a variety of candies.675 persons were served.
Through our Diamonds Senior Adult 55+ ministry, we were able to serve seniors in the Greater Houston area every Thursday by providing weekly meals, games and activities.
