The Pilgrimage of Mercy project was undertaken from Sept to Nov 2015, in order to prepare & catechize the US for the Holy Year of Mercy promulgated by Pope Francis. The life & witness of St. Maria Goretti was used to acheive this purpose, along with other major relics, which were imported from Italy. By prior arrangement with the Italian Catholic Church, the revenue from this project is to be used to repair the House of Matyrdom in Le Ferriere, Italy, and the Basilica Shrine in Nettuno, Italy.
