To support the Yazidi Community after the genocidal campaign in August 2014, by helping thousands of displaced families and individuals that have been uprooted from their homes with humanitarian aid and social assistance
Livelihood Project The project covers Sinjar Areas where Yazidi community mainly live. It is funded by USAID and supported by IOM. The aims of the project are to support the return of the most vulnerable and undertaking a multidisciplinary, supervised program which includes livelihood and economic independence, supporting access to services including social cohesion and psychological support, diaspora engagement, and administrative support. The activities includes opening small businesses for returnees in Sinjar, supporting teachers and students, supporting schools with school supplies, supporting youth groups for community and youth activism, and providing psychosocial support. The programs goals are to open 90 small businesses for returnees in Sinjar, support 35 teachers in 8 schools which host 5800 students, support 8 schools with school supplies each month, support 6 youth groups for community and youth mobilization and activism, and provide psychosocial support to 240 beneficiaries.
Yazda Documentation Project This project was started in 2015 and it has been running steadily with a team of people, to give a voice to the Yazidi community. The projects aims are to preserve Yazidi cultural identity, to collect testimonies of the crimes committed against its people, to record the destruction of property and infrastructure, to identify on the ground the mass graves and killing sites, and to allow, through the process of remembering, an opportunity to heal.
Yazda Project supported by USAID and Heartland Alliances. The project is the continuation of Yazda support for survivors of sexual violence by ISIS, regardless of their religion, gender, ethnicity, or age. Yazda addresses the complex needs of sexual and gender-based violence SGBV survivors through offering mental health and psychosocial support MHPSS and case management support. Yazda supported, educated, and empowered survivors in their ability to build legal cases and utilize available legal systems, assisting them with obtaining proper documentation and explaining their legal rights under various jurisdictions in Iraq. The program provided 280 beneficiaries with MHPSS. 120 beneficiaries participated in a trip to Lalish for social integration. 34 small businesses/income-generating activities were opened for surivvors. 350 beneficiaries were supported with legal assistance.
