ON THE ROAD LENDING SEEKS TO LIFT THE DISADVANTAGED AND WORKING POOR FROM POVERTY BY HELPING THEM OVERCOME TRANSPORTATION BARRIERS SO THEY CAN FIND AND RETAIN JOBS, LEAD HEALTHIER LIVES, AND AVOID PREDATORY LENDERS. WE FIND RELIABLE FUEL-EFFICIENT VEHICLES FOR CLIENTS, PROVIDE THEM WITH LONG-TERM FINANCIAL COACHING, AND PREPARE THEM FOR A BELOW-MARKET INTEREST RATE LOAN THAT WILL HELP THEM BUILD ASSETS, CREDIT, AND FINANCIAL CAPABILITY.
THE DISASTER MOBILITY PROGRAM WAS DESIGNED TO HELP PEOPLE IN COMMUNITIES WHO ARE IMPACTED BY STORMS OR OTHER DISASTERS TO FIND TRANSPORTATION SO THEY AVOID JOB LOSS. THIS PROGRAM WAS ACTIVATED IN SOUTH TEXAS IN RESPONSE TO HURRICANE HARVEY. WE SERVED 567 PEOPLE IN THE DISASTER MOBILITY PROGRAM AND FACILITATED 43 VEHICLE LOANS DURING 2019.
MOBILITY PROGRAM ENABLES CLIENTS TO PURCHASE A LATE MODEL VEHICLE UNDER WARRANTY. ON THE ROAD LENDING WORKED WITH ABOUT 653 PEOPLE IN THE MOBILITY PROGRAM, GETTING 93 INTO VEHICLES DURING 2019.
