The Family Guidance & Outreach Center of Lubbock is dedicated to the prevention of child abuse and neglect and supporting, mentoring, and educating parents.
Family Guidance & Outreach Center (FGOC) is a nonprofit organization serving adults and children in Lubbock and surrounding areas through the Parenting Guidance Center and school based programs. All services are provided free of charge. In the year 2019, FGOC provided more than 100 parenting classes, serving more than 1,000 adults. Attendees participate for a variety of reasons including, personal development, requirements from Childrens Protective Services (CPS), and court referrals. School based outreach programs offered by Family Guidance & Outreach Center include: Shaken Baby Syndrome, Dino-Might Tykes, Anger Wranglers, Gear up for 6th Grade, Girls to the 6th Power, and Coaching Teen Leaders. FGOC impacted more than 4,000 students through these services in 2019.
