Organizations Filed Purposes: Madison County House Of Hope is an organization created to assist those dealing with alcoholism and drug addiction to find a new life and purpose in and through Jesus Christ, develop self-discipline and skills to reenter society. Daily bible study, community service and prayer are the most significant activities of each day.

The 2019 year was good in many ways and a disappointing one as well. We served the residents with a message of hope, worked in the community and had a disastrous fire that brought new challenges. Our people were cared for physically, emotionally and disciplined in the way of Christ. During the year twenty-six(26) individuals graduated the one-year program and, as always, some dropped out while others came in. Our high number of residents was seventy-six(76) but you should realize that many more were assisted during the year. Of all that came through, ten(10) individuals were asked to leave. These individuals were in some cases sent back to prison because their freedom depended on them staying in the program. Drug testing and rules of behavior are mandatory to keep this program viable and running. We continued to serve our community by being available to help, serving all the churches in our area with whatever they might need. We also have a mowing ministry that provides landscape services to all the cemeteries in our and adjoining counties. This is not all we do but represents the largest projects. The year also brought a significant loss of facilities. On November 9, 2019 a fire consumed our worship area, kitchen, dining and classrooms. Additionally, a wing of the resdents housing burned. Cause of the fire was faulty electrical as the buildings were old and in constant need of repairs. The housing area was home to twenty-six(26) individuals that immediately had to double up with other residents. For the first few weeks after the disaster occured, churches and local restaurants provided food. Within that period of time we were able to setup a kitchen and began functioning again. The support of the community was tremendous with much financial support as we were not blessed with insurance. We are well on our way to having a new twenty-four thousand(24,000) square foot building. The foundation and framing have been completed as of the date of this Form 990 filing. The facility will include a worship center, kitchen, walk-in refrigeration, dining, classrooms and living space. Finally, the year was good in that we continued to work our mission of helping those with alcoholism and drug addiction through bible-based study and leadership. Our community was bless as we worked to serve them and we are now in a building project to improving our facilities as a result of the fire.
