PLAN AND DEVELOP PRIORITIES THAT WILL BE THE MOST EFFECTIVE AND EFFICIENT FOR THE AREA SERVED.

TO SERVE THE ECONOMICALLY DISADVANTAGED PERSONS IN 8 WEST TEXAS COUNTIES.

ENERGY: THE BBCAC HAS A UTILITY ASSISTANCE ENERGY PROGRAM DESIGNED TO HELPCLIENTS ACHIEVE ENERGY SELF-SUFFICIENCY BY ENCOURAGING CONSUMERS TO CONTROLENERGY COSTS. THE PROGRAM PROVIDES UTILITY PAYMENTS ON BEHALF OF THECLIENTS AND ALSO ADDRESSES THE UNDERLYING CONTRIBUTING CAUSES OF ENERGYINDUCED HARDSHIPS. THE ORGANIZATION PROVIDED ASSISTANCE TO 3,352 INDIVIDUALS AND 1,735 FAMILIES IN 2019.

TRANSPORTATION: TRANSPORTATION IS AVAILABLE TO THE PUBLIC IN THECOMMITTEE'S SERVICE AREAS. THE ORGANIZATION PROVIDED 14,228 RIDES, WHICHASSISTED 15,426 INDIVIDUALS IN 2019.

WEATHERIZATION: THE BBCAC THROUGH ITS WEATHERIZATION PROGRAM, REDUCESHEATING AND COOLING COSTS FOR LOW-INCOME FAMILIES, PARTICULARLY FOR THEELDERLY, PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES AND FAMILIES WITH CHILDREN, BY IMPROVINGTHE ENERGY EFFICIENCY OF THEIR HOMES WHILE ENSURING THEIR HEALTH ANDSAFETY. THIS PROGRAM IS DESIGNED TO PROMOTE ENERGY EFFICIENCY IN THERESIDENCES OF LOW-INCOME PERSONS, ELDERLY AND FAMILIES WITH YOUNG CHILDREN.THE PROGRAM PROVIDES ENERGY RELATED IMPROVEMENTS TO HOMES AND EDUCATESCONSUMERS ABOUT ENERGY CONSERVATION. THE ORGANIZATION PROVIDEDWEATHERIZATION SERVICES TO 45 INDIVIDUALS AND 29 FAMILIES IN 2019.
