Organizations Filed Purposes: MIDLAND FESTIVAL BALLET IS A 501(C)3 NONPROFIT WHOSE MISSION IS TO PROMOTE AND PRESENT THE ART OF CLASSICAL BALLET THROUGH EDUCATION, PERFORMANCE, AND OUTREACH.

WITH A STRONG LEGACY, MIDLAND FESTIVAL BALLET (MFB) CONTINUES TO SERVE AS A BEACON OF ARTISTIC EXCELLENCE IN OUR COMMUNITY. OFFERING UNPARALLELED TRAINING TO APPROXIMATELY 200 STUDENTS, THE SCHOOL OF MIDLAND FESTIVAL BALLET CONTINUES TO THRIVE AND GROW EXPOSING STUDENTS AGES 3 THROUGH ADULT TO THE BEAUTY OF BALLET THROUGH THE FINEST TEACHING BY A PROFESSIONAL FACULTY.THE AWARD-WINNING CIVIC COMPANY IS COMPRISED OF LOCAL DANCERS SELECTED BY AUDITION AND SERVES AS THE ONLY CIVIC BALLET COMPANY IN THE AREA. THE CIVIC COMPANY DELIGHTS PATRONS AND AUDIENCES BY PRESENTING TWO FULL-LENGTH BALLET PRODUCTIONS EACH SEASON WITH LIVE ACCOMPANIMENT MOST OFTEN IN PARTNERSHIP WITH MIDLAND-ODESSA SYMPHONY AND CHORALE (E.G., THE NUTCRACKER IN DECEMBER AND A FULL-LENGTH PRODUCTION TYPICALLY HELD IN MARCH-APRIL) AT THE BEAUTIFUL WAGNER-NOEL PERFORMING ARTS CENTER.DEVOTING 15-25 HOURS WEEKLY FOR EDUCATION, PERFORMANCES, AND COMMUNITY OUTREACH, THE CIVIC COMPANY BRINGS THE BEAUTY OF BALLET THROUGH OUTREACH

THE NUTCRACKER, A HOLIDAY CLASSIC, CONTINUES TO DELIGHT AUDIENCES AS A PERMIAN BASIN FAVORITE THAT FEATURES THE TALENTS OF OUR CIVIC COMPANY WHO ARE JOINED BY MIDLAND FESTIVAL BALLET'S SCHOOL STUDENTS, AND OTHER LOCAL DANCERS AT THE WAGNER-NOEL PERFORMING ARTS CENTER. MFB'S PRODUCTION FEATURES OVER 120 DANCERS AND VOLUNTEER PERFORMERS AND REQUIRES BETWEEN 50-75 VOLUNTEERS FOR PRODUCTION SUPPORT. WE PARTNER WITH MIDLAND-ODESSA SYMPHONY AND CHORALE WHO THRILLS AUDIENCES WITH TCHAIKOVSKY'S ICONIC SCORE. JOINING OUR CAST ARE PROFESSIONAL GUEST ARTISTS FROM ORGANIZATIONS SUCH AS HOUSTON BALLET, COLORADO BALLET, MILWAUKEE BALLET, AND DANCE THEATRE OF HARLEM. IN 2019, MFB HELD 2 PRODUCTIONS. THE FIRST NIGHT WAS CONSIDERED "SOLD OUTX AND AN AFTERNOON PERFORMANCE ALSO SOLD WELL. A TOTAL OF 2,904 TICKETS WERE SOLD INCLUDING 456 TICKETS PROVIDED FOR FREE TO LOCAL SOCIAL SERVICE ORGANIZATIONS AND NON-PROFITS TO PROMOTE ACCESS TO THE ARTS FOR SOCIO-ECONOMICALLY DISADVANTAGED PATRONS.MFB'S CIVIC COMPANY PRESENTED THE CLASSIC, ICONIC AT THE WAGNER-NOEL PERFORMING ARTS CENTER. MFB'S CIVIC COMPANY WAS JOINED BY PROFESSIONAL GUEST ARTISTS FROM HOUSTON BALLET, COLORADO BALLET, BALLET SAN ANTONIO, AND BOULDER BALLET. MFB COLLABORATED WITH MIDLAND-ODESSA SYMPHONY AND CHORALE FOR LIVE ACCOMPANIMENT FOR THIS FULL-LENGTH PRODUCTION. THE PERFORMANCE SOLD 708 TICKETS INCLUDING 223 TICKETS GIVEN FOR FREE TO LOCAL SERVICE ORGANIZATIONS AND NON-PROFITS. IN CONJUNCTION WITH THIS PERFORMANCE, THE MFB CIVIC COMPANY UNDERTAKES A LARGE OUTREACH PERFORMANCE AT THE WAGNER-NOEL PERFORMING ARTS CENTER REACHING BETWEEN 1500-2000 ELEMENTARY SCHOOL STUDENTS.

THE SCHOOL OF MIDLAND FESTIVAL BALLET HAS A PROFESSIONAL, TALENTED FACULTY THAT EXHIBITS THE HIGHEST CALIBER OF TEACHING. THE SCHOOL OF MFB HAS GROWN TO APPROXIMATELY 200 STUDENTS FROM AGES 3 THROUGH ADULT WHO ARE IMMERSED IN THE CRAFT OF BALLET IN AN EDUCATIONAL AND PERSONALLY ENRICHING ENVIRONMENT. THE SCHOOL IS STRUCTURED WITH THE BELIEF THAT A LOVE FOR THE ART OF BALLET AND THE DISCIPLINE THAT GOES ALONG WITH IT TEACH THE SKILLS FOR SUCCESS IN ANY FIELD STUDENTS WANT TO PURSUE. CLASSES OCCUR FROM AUGUST THROUGH MAY AND THE YEAR CULMINATES IN A SPRING SHOWCASE HELD AT THE BOWIE FINE ARTS ELEMENTARY AUDITORIUM.
