Organizations Filed Purposes: The Frances Ann Lutcher Theater for the Performing Arts is committed to presenting professional entertainment for the enlightenment and cultural growth of people living in Southeast Texas and Southwest Louisiana and to better the quality of life and knowledge of the Arts and Humanities in the area.

The Theater's mission is to promote an appreciation for the performing arts in the community. Programming is varied and intended to reach all segments of area communities. In terms of performances offered, the Theater is the tenth largest in the state of Texas.

The Lutcher Theater presents a performing arts series that is attended by adults and families. Offerings include national touring Broadway productions, musical artists, dance, drama and other assorted events. Pre-show lectures and post-show discussions, meet/greet opportunities and master classes are sometimes offered. 2019 programming consisted of the following productions:Legally Blonde, Something Rotten, Jersey Boys (2/4/19), Steel Magnolias, The Sound of Music, Finding Neverland, Spamalot, Croce Plays Croce, Symphony at Shangri La, Jersey Boys (10/29/19), Bandstand, Georgia on my Mind, Shane & Shane with Phil Wickham, Escape to Margaritaville, and Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer. 15,716 individuals attended the above events.

The Lutcher Theater presents a daytime performing arts series, Lutcher Incredible Kids Events, for area students and the public. Companies often conduct pre-show audience interaction opportunities and post-show discussions. They also often provide correlating study guides that we make available for teachers on the Lutcher Theater website. 2019 programming consisted of the following productions: Frankenstein, Underneath the Magical Moon, and Miss Nelson has a Field Day. 3,281 students and educators attended the above events.
