Organizations Filed Purposes: C-LEARNING WAS FORMED TO COORDINATE, PROVIDE, AND ASSIST IN FUNDING CONTINUOUS LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES FOR OUTSTANDING EDUCATIONAL LEADERS AT ALL LEVELS (INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, SUPERINTENDENTS, PRINCIPALS, TEACHERS, AND COLLEGE PROFESSORS) THROUGH A VARIETY OF EXPERIENCES DESIGNED TO SPARK THEIR CREATIVITY, IMAGINATION, AND ENTHUSIASM.

THE PRINCIPALS' INSTITUTE - THE PRINCIPALS' INSTITUTE IS THE FIRST OF MANY LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES THAT WILL BE CREATED BY C-LEARNING. THE PURPOSE OF THE PRINCIPALS' INSTITUTE IS TO DEVELOP CONCRETE STANDARDS AGAINST WHICH CAMPUSES CAN MEASURE THEIR EFFECTIVENESS IN ACHIEVING EDUCATIONAL ASPIRATIONS FOR 21ST CENTURY STUDENTS IN TEXAS. BUILDING UPON THE IDEAS EXPRESSED BY SUPERINTENDENTS WHO PARTICIPATED IN THE TEXAS VISIONING INSTITUTE/ THE PRINCIPALS' INSTITUTE BRINGS TOGETHER THE MOST INNOVATIVE CAMPUS LEADERS FROM ALL OF THE SCHOOL DISTRICTS IN TEXAS (AT THIS TIME, 42 DISTRICTS) TO STUDY CREATING A NEW VISION, MEET AND TRAIN WITH EDUCATIONAL EXPERTS, DEVELOP CAMPUS-SPECIFIC PRACTICES THAT ALIGN WITH THE IDEAS EXPRESSED IN CREATING A NEW VISION, AND WORK THROUGH THE DETAILS OF WHAT IT MEANS TO BE A 21ST CENTURY CAMPUS. ONE OF THE GOALS OF THE PRINCIPALS' INSTITUTE IS TO DESIGN THE CAMPUS AND CLASSROOM OF THE FUTURE.THE WORK OF THE PRINCIPALS' INSTITUTE IS DESIGNED AROUND SIX TWO-DAY MEETINGS OVER A ONE-YEAR PERIOD BEGINNING IN JUNE. READINGS, VIRTUAL COLLABORATION, AND SHARING ARE ALSO A MAJOR PART OF THE WORK, AND COLLABORATION AND COMMUNICATION WILL CONTINUE BETWEEN MEETINGS. C-LEARNING WILL BRING IN INSTRUCTORS AND EDUCATORS AS PART OF THIS PROGRAM.C-LEARNING IS CURRENTLY EXPLORING A RELATIONSHIP WITH UNIVERSITY OF NORTH TEXAS-DENTON TO PROVIDE PRINCIPALS' INSTITUTE PARTICIPANTS WITH EDUCATIONAL CREDIT IN EXCHANGE FOR PARTICIPATION.PRINCIPALS' INSTITUTE PARTICIPANTS (OR THEIR EMPLOYERS) WILL PAY SOME PORTION OF THE COST OF PARTICIPATION. HOWEVER, C-LEARNING'S GOAL IS TO PERMIT PARTICIPATION AT THE LOWEST POSSIBLE COST.A NEW CADRE OF PARTICIPANTS WILL PARTICIPATE IN THE PRINCIPALS' INSTITUTE EACH YEAR, AND ALUMNI WILL REMAIN INVOLVED IN PRINCIPALS' INSTITUTE ACTIVITIES, INCLUDING NETWORKING, RESEARCH, AND EDUCATION. INTERESTED INDIVIDUALS (OR THEIR RELEVANT SCHOOL DISTRICTS) WILL APPLY FOR ENTRY INTO THE PRINCIPALS' INSTITUTE. INDIVIDUALS FROM ALL TEXAS SCHOOL DISTRICTS WILL BE ELIGIBLE TO APPLY. PARTICIPANTS WILL BE SELECTED BY A GROUP OF PRINCIPALS AND SUPERINTENDENTS APPOINTED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF C-LEARNING.

CHARTER SCHOOL - SEVERAL TEXAS SCHOOL DISTRICTS AND UNIVERSITIES HAVE RECENTLY JOINED C-LEARNING IN A DISCUSSION AROUND THE CREATION OF A CHARTER SCHOOL DESIGNED TO BE A MODEL OF A 21ST CENTURY CAMPUS AS WELL AS A CENTER FOR TRAINING TEACHERS FOR THE CLASSROOM OF THE FUTURE. THOUGH THIS IDEA IS IN THE EARLY STAGES OF DEVELOPMENT, WE BELIEVE IT WILL BE ONE OF THE MOST SOUGHT AFTER LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES FOR BOTH EDUCATORS AND STUDENTS. AT THIS TIME IT IS NOT KNOWN WHETHER C-LEARNING WILL HELP DEVELOP A MODEL FOR SUCH A SCHOOL OR IF IT MIGHT ADMINISTER THE SCHOOL ITSELF. AMONG OTHER THINGS, A CHARTER SCHOOL COULD PROVIDE ADDITIONAL OPPORTUNITIES FOR (I) TRAINING AND EDUCATING TEACHERS AND EDUCATIONAL LEADERS, (II) RESEARCHING AND EVALUATING THE LEARNING ENVIRONMENT, AND (III) A HOME-BASE FOR THE PRINCIPALS' INSTITUTE AND FORUM FOR ITS VARIOUS TRAINING ACTIVITIES.

TRAINING - C-LEARNING ANTICIPATES THAT AT SOME FUTURE POINT, IT MAY PROVIDE OTHER TRAINING AND EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES FOR EDUCATORS OR EDUCATIONAL LEADERS.
