The mission of Fort Bend Lawyers Care is to provide lowincome Fort Bend County residents with equal access to justice through volunteer
COMMUNITY LEGAL AID WORKSHOPS - Community legal aid workshops are held every month. Civil legal needs are assessed by either volunteer lawysers or staff attorney. Clients are provided and assisted with pro se (represent yourself) documents. Volunteer lawyers refer clients to TexasLawHelp.org for further assistance and to participate in future clinics or to utilize FBLC for further assistance unitl the issue is finalized.
LOW INCOME LEGAL AID CLINICS - Legal Aid Clinics are held every other month for 4 hours. Civil legal needs are assessed by either volunteer lawyers or a staff attorney. The clients are educated in regards to their legal need(s) and then advised of their civil legal rights pertinent to the legal matter. They are provided and assisted pro se (represent yourself) documents, if that is what they choose. In the case that they do choose to be a pro se litigant, FBLC encourages the client to participate in future clinics or to utilize FBLC for further assistance until the issue is finalized.
VETERANS CLINICS - Veterans clinics are held once a quarter. Civil legal needs for veterans are assessed by either volunteer lawyer or a staff attorney. The clients are educated in regards to their legal need(s) and then advised of their civil legal rights pertinent to the legal matter.
