Organizations Filed Purposes:
OUR MISSION IS TO PROVIDE HELP, HOPE, AND HEALING TO ALL THOSE AFFECTED BY SEXUAL VIOLENCE AND TO CULTIVATE A SAFE, NON-VIOLENT COMMUNITY.
CLIENT SERVICES:RCC CLIENT SERVICES INCLUDE THE ACTIVITIES OF OUR CRISIS INTERVENTION, ADVOCACY, AND COUNSELING DEPARTMENTS. FOR A PORTION OF THIS FISCAL YEAR, THE RCC ALSO OFFERED MEDICAL SERVICES THROUGH THE MONARCH PROJECT AFTER CARE CLINIC. THE OBJECTIVES OF OUR DIRECT CLIENT SERVICES ARE AS FOLLOWS: 1. TO REDUCE THE IMMEDIATE IMPACT OF TRAUMA AND ENHANCE THE CLIENT'S ABILITY TO COPE WITH A CRISIS; 2. TO SUPPORT CLIENTS AND THEIR FAMILIES AS THEY NAVIGATE THE MEDICAL AND CRIMINAL JUSTICE SYSTEMS AND ACCESS THE RESOURCES THAT ARE AVAILABLE IN OUR COMMUNITY; 3. TO HELP CLIENTS HEAL FROM THE TRAUMA OF SEXUAL VIOLENCE AND ACHIEVE POSITIVE MENTAL HEALTH OUTCOMES.TO ACCOMPLISH THESE OBJECTIVES, WE PROVIDED BOTH SHORT-TERM INTERVENTIONS AND LONG-TERM CARE. OUR 24/7 CRISIS HOTLINE RESPONDED TO 5,700 TELEPHONE CALLS AND ONLINE CHAT MESSAGES. ADVOCATES SUPPORTED 636 FORENSIC EXAM PATIENTS THROUGH MEDICAL ACCOMPANIMENT AND PROVIDED CASE MANAGEMENT SERVICES TO 530 CLIENTS. RCC STAFF COUNSELORS AND INTERNS SERVED 778 CLIENTS AND PROVIDED 5,277 COUNSELING SESSIONS. THE MONARCH PROJECT AFTER CARE CLINIC RECEIVED 190 PATIENT REFERRALS AND PROVIDED MEDICAL FOLLOW-UP SERVICES TO 43 SEXUAL ASSAULT SURVIVORS.
OUTREACH AND EDUCATION SERVICES:BY CONDUCTING OUTREACH AND EDUCATION SERVICES, THE RCC INFORMS THE PUBLIC ABOUT THE PREVALENCE AND DYNAMICS OF SEXUAL VIOLENCE IN OUR COMMUNITY, WHILE ENSURING THAT SURVIVORS OF ABUSE UNDERSTAND THEIR RIGHTS AND KNOW HOW TO SEEK ASSISTANCE. DURING THIS FISCAL YEAR, RCC STAFF MEMBERS DELIVERED 25 PRESENTATIONS THAT REACHED 834 COMMUNITY MEMBERS, AND THEY SET UP INFORMATIONAL BOOTHS AT 33 EVENTS. TO MEET THE OBJECTIVE OF PREVENTING VIOLENCE, RCC TRAINING ACTIVITIES PROVIDE PARTICIPANTS WITH THE KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS TO SET BOUNDARIES AND ESTABLISH HEALTHY RELATIONSHIPS. EDUCATORS HOSTED OVER 50 TRAINING SESSIONS THAT DREW NEARLY 400 PARTICIPANTS.
