To support and promote arts in education by motivating and inspiring children to learn through innovative arts programs in the classroom and helping teachers bridge achievement gaps in learning and STEM education.
The Arts Funds San Antonio Wolf Trap Early Learning through the Arts Program provided 34 Teachers in 20 different public elementary schools in various districts in Bexar County and San Antoniio with effective Professional Development, enhancing the early educators instructional skills. Our seven Teaching Artists collaborated with the early education Teachers in the classroom during an 8 week residency to build arts based strategies into the class curriculum. The students involved benefit as a result of Teachers being equipped to bridge economic achievement gaps, build motivation and engagement in learning, thereby, promoting social, emotional, and cognitive development of their students. The students as a result are better prepared to succeed in their academic future. Our Teacher and Parent workshops support and train techniques to encourage creative and enthusiastic learning.
