SINCE ITS OPENING IN SEPTEMBER 2014, THE TOBIN CENTER FOR THE PERFORMINGARTS HAS TRANSFORMED PERFORMING ARTS IN SAN ANTONIO, DELIVERING A DAZZLINGSTATE-OF-THE-ART VENUE FOR OUR LOCAL ARTS ORGANIZATIONS, INCLUDING THE SANANTONIO SYMPHONY, BALLET SAN ANTONIO, THE OPERA SAN ANTONIO AND MANYOTHERS. THE TOBIN CENTER HAS ALSO STRIVED TO EXCITE ALL AGES, CULTURES,LIFESTYLES AND INCOME LEVELS WITH PERFORMANCES BY MANY DIFFERENT ARTISTSAND PERFORMERS. IN COLLABORATION WITH THE TOBIN'S LOCAL ORGANIZATIONS, THETOBIN CENTER PROVIDES GREATER ACCESS TO THE PERFORMING ARTS TO SANANTONIO'S YOUTH WITH FREE PERFORMANCES, AFTER-SCHOOL AND SUMMER PROGRAMSAND OTHER ARTS EDUCATIONS PROGRAMS. WITH HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF SOUTHTEXANS CONVERGING EACH YEAR AT THE TOBIN, DEVELOPMENT PROVIDING ADDITIONALSHOPPING, DINING AND LIVING ARE ANTICIPATED, WHICH WILL HELP TRANSFORM THECITY'S URBAN CORE.
The Bexar County Performing Arts Center Foundation was established to provide a world-class venue that promotes a diverse range of cultural, educational, and artistic experiences to improve the quality of life in San Antonio. In 2019 The Tobin Center hosted 436 events that brought the very best of the performing arts world to San Antonio. The venue welcomed approximately two hundred thirty thousand visitors through its doors. Through its education programs, The Tobin Center served over fifty thousand children in Bexar County. The Tobin Center is home to seven resident arts organizations, including the San Antonio Symphony, Opera San Antonio and Ballet San Antonio.
