The ESSAR Recreation Association is a management supported, nonprofit, volunteer and employee run association designed to provide members and their families with social, athletic, wellness, educational, and special interest activities.
ESSAR Recreation Assoc. is a social organization to improve health,morale & welfare of members.
Athletics/Health & Fitness - The athletics activities included organized intramural sports such as softball, soccer, volleyball, sand volleyball and basketball.
Social - The ESSAR promoted members to participate in social and recreational activities for its 3,630 members. The social activities include an annual Western-themed dance and a holiday season semi-formal dance. The recreational activities include fishing tournaments, an annual golf tournament, and bowling. Event tickets, merchandise sales and VIA bus subsidies. The ESSAR provides discounted tickets to area entertainment and sports events. The association promotes the VIA bus system as alternate transportation by providing subsidized fares to its members.
