CREDIT UNION IS A VOLUNTARY, COOPERATIVE, NON-PROFIT SAVINGS INSTITUTION, INCORPORATED UNDER THE PROVISIONS OF THE TEXAS CREDIT UNION ACT FOR THE PURPOSE OF ENCOURAGING THRIFT AMONG ITS MEMBERS, PROVIDING CREDIT AT A FAIR AND REASONABLE RATE OF INTEREST AND PROVIDING AN OPPORTUNITY TO IMPROVE THEIR ECONOMIC CONDITION. FELLOWSHIP CRERDIT UNION SHARE ACCOUNTS OFFER ADVANTAGES TO MEMBERS OF ALL AGES. THE CREDIT UNION HAD 1,837 MEMBER-OWNED SHARE ACOUNTS ON DECEMBER 31, 2018. MEMBER SAVING ACCOUNTS PAY DIVIDENDS QUARTERLY AND OFFER ACESS THROUGH INTERNET HOME BANKING, ATM'S AND TELEPHONE. THE CREDIT UNION ALSO OFFERS MOBILE BANKING FOR THE BENEFIT OF ITS MEMBERSHIP. SPECIAL SAVINGS ACCOUNTS DESIGNED FOR CHILDREN ENCOURAGE THE DEVELOPMENT OF CONSISTENT SAVINGS HABITS.
FELLOWSHIP CREDIT UNION HAS PROVIDED LOANS TO ITS MEMBERS SINCE ITS INCEPTION IN 1941. THE LOAN PRODUCTS INCLUDE EFFICIENT UNDERWRITING AND FLEXIBLE OFFERINGS AT VERY COMPETITIVE RATES FOR AUTOMOBILES, RECREATIONAL VEHICLES, BOATS, AND MOTORCYCLES THE CREDIT UION HAD 478 PERSONAL CONSUMER LOANS AS OF DECEMBER 31, 2018 AND CONSUMER LIFE AND DISABIITY INSURANCE IS AVAILABLE ON ANY OF THESE LOAN TYPES. THE CREDIT UNION ALSO HAD 24 MORTGAGE LOANS AS OF DECEMBER 31, 2018.
CREDIT UNION OFFERS ITS MEMBERS A VARIETY OF CHECKING ACCOUNTS, FROM FREE ACCOUNTS TO THOSE WITH ENHANCED BENEFITS, SUCH AS MONTHLY DIVIDENDS. ADDITIONALLY, THE CREDIT UNION EXTENDS THE REACH OF THESE ACCOUNTS BY OFFERING FREE EMV CHIP CARDS (ALL DEBIT CARDS WERE SWITCHED TO EMV CHIP CARDS IN 2016) AS WELL AS INTERNET ACCOUNT ACCESS AND FREE BILL PAYMENT SERVICES. THE CREDIT UNION HAD 636 MEMBER CHECKING ACCOUNTS AS OF DECEMBER 31, 2018 AND ALSO MANAGES AN OVERDRAFT PRIVILEGE PROGRAM TO BENEFIT ITS MEMBERS. A VISA CREDIT CARD PROGRAM IS ALSO MAINTINED, WITH 275 APPROVED ACCOUNTS AS OF DECEMBER 31, 2018.
