WIN Ministries is dedicated to equipping churches and leaders around the world with materials to facilitate Christian Leadership Training, Evangelism and Discipleship, and Community Development.
Curriculum Development In 2019, WIN Ministries upgraded its studio to use UHD video equipment for better video quality. WIN filmed seven new courses, which added 35 half-hour sessions on the topics of Chaplaincy and Christian Leadership. In the second half of 2019, WIN strongly pivoted its curriculum development activities towards translation. By the end of the year, WIN had two dedicated employees and two dedicated volunteers, each working at least 40 hours per week on translation activities, alongside other employees and volunteers. At least 140 half-hour sessions were prepared for translation, and at least 100 were transcribed. Actual French translation and recording also began in 2019, and by the end of the year, WIN had one additional employee assigned full-time to dub French audio over English video.
Domestic Schools WIN Ministries supplied video-based training materials, workbooks, exams, and other support to church-based ministry schools in the United States and the US Virgin Islands. In total, WIN Ministries provided DVDs, workbooks, and other training materials to 32 church-based schools, two more than in 2018, each with anywhere from 8 to 30 students. In total, WIN added 13 new schools in 2019 and saw 11 schools close, having graduated or otherwise completed their studies.
International Schools Spending on International Schools was down in 2019 as our African partners were still distributing equipment inventory from 2018. Despite lower spending, new schools continued to be started. Through partnerships with other organizations, over 80 new N2NCU schools were started in Burundi alone. Additionally, about 12 schools were started in Spanish in Ecuador and Columbia, and equipment for another 27 in Columbia was prepared for distribution. New schools were also started in Liberia, Malawi, Rwanda, Tanzania, and India. Each new school will likely train between 15 and 25 students, at no cost to them, on topics ranging from Christian ministry and theology to community development, leadership, health, and hygiene. About 500 students across East Africa graduated with a 4-year degree, including over 120 students in the Kakuma refugee camp in Northern Kenya. In total, WIN estimates that there were roughly 10,000 students in Africa, Latin America, and The United States enrolled in the N2NCU curriculum at the end of 2019.
