Organizations Filed Purposes: FORT BEND REGIONAL COUNCIL ON SUBSTANCE ABUSE'S MISSION IS, PROVIDING FAMILIES AND INDIVIDUALS SUBSTANCE ABUSE PREVENTION, EDUCATION, AND TREATMENT SERVICES THEY NEED FOR POSITIVE CHANGE FOR THEMSELVES AND THE COMMUNITY. THIS IS ACCOMPLISHED THROUGH ADULT SUBSTANCE USE DISORDER TREATMENT PROGRAMS AND EDUCATION CLASSES AND YOUTH COUNSELING AND PREVENTION PROGRAMS.

PREVENTION, TREATMENT & INTERVENTION OF SUBSTANCE ABUSE.

YOUTH SERVICES PROGRAM:IN 2019 FBRC'S YOUTH PROGRAMS REACHED 4,141 YOUTH IN LOCAL SCHOOLS THROUGH PREVENTION EDUCATION AND SKILLS TRAINING USING THE SCHOOL BASED YOUTH CONNECTION AND THE LIFE SKILLS TRAINING PROGRAMS. 823 HIGH RISK YOUTH RECEIVED COUNSELING AND 14,453 YOUTH AND 1,811 ADULTS PARTICIPATED IN PREVENTION FOCUSED ALTERNATIVE ACTIVITIES IN SCHOOLS AND AT THE SUMMER EXPLOSION, SUMMER JOURNEY AND HIGH SCHOOL LEADERSHIP PROGRAMS, WHILE 15,264 PEOPLE ATTENDED ONE OF FBRC'S 508 COMMUNITY-BASED TOBACCO AND SUBSTANCE USE PREVENTION EDUCATIONAL PRESENTATIONS. FBRC SCREENED AND SUCCESSFULLY REFERRED 226 YOUTH TO HELPFUL COMMUNITY RESOURCES AND SERVICES. CUMULATIVELY, INCLUDING COMMUNITY PRESENTATIONS AND SPECIAL EVENTS THE YOUTH PROGRAM REACHED 35,669 PEOPLE IN OUR COMMUNITY.FBRC'S " FORT BEND COMMUNITY PREVENTION COALITION" BEGAN IN 2013, IT'S GOAL IS TO PREVENT SUBSTANCE USE AMONG YOUTH THROUGH ENVIRONMENTAL STRATEGIES. THE COALITION'S 44 MEMBERS ATTENDED 12 MEETINGS DURING 2019. LAST YEAR THE COALITION MADE 40 MEDIA CONTACTS RELATED TO ALCOHOL, TOBACCO AND OTHER DRUG PREVENTION AND PUBLISHED 70 SOCIAL MEDIA MESSAGES RELATED TO PREVENTION OF TOBACCO, ALCOHOL AND OTHER SUBSTANCE USE AMONG YOUTH.

COMMUNITY PROGRAMS: FBRC'S COMMUNITY PROGRAMS INCLUDE FBRC'S ADULT SUBSTANCE ABUSE DISORDERS PROGRAM AND OUR NEWEST INITIATIVE THE FORT BEND COMMUNITY PREVENTION COALITION. IN 2019 FBRC ADMITTED 641 ADULTS TO THE SUBSTANCE ABUSE TREATMENT PROGRAM WHICH INCLUDED BOTH STATE FUNDED, SPECIALTY COURT AND OTHER COMMUNITY PARTICIPANTS.

OFFENDER EDUCATION PROGRAMS:FBRC'S OFFENDER EDUCATION PROGRAMS INCLUDE THE PROVISION OF STATE CERTIFIED ALCOHOL AND DRUG EDUCATION CLASSES FOR ADULT AND FOR YOUTH CITED FOR AN ALCOHOL OR DRUG RELATED OFFENSE. DURING 2019 THESE COURSES EDUCATED 276 INDIVIDUALS.
