Organizations Filed Purposes: The Junior League of Tyler, Inc. is an organization of women committed to promoting volunteerism, developing the potential of women and improving communities through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers. AWARDED GRANTS AND VOLUNTEER HOURS TO 14 ORGANIZATIONS IN THE COMMUNITY SUPPORTING ARTS & EDUCATION, HEALTH SERVICES, AND YOUTH AND FAMILY ISSUES. BY PARTNERING WITH OTHER COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS, RESOURCES CAN BE POOLED TO MAKE EACH DOLLAR HAVE THE BIGGEST IMPACT POSSIBLE ON THE COMMUNITY. SOME OF THE 2019-2020 HIGHLIGHTS INCLUDE PARTNERING WITH THE EAST TEXAS FOOD BANK TO PROVIDE A SUMMER FOOD PROGRAM FEEDING HUNDREDS OF AREA CHILDREN FACING FOOD INSECURITY AND PARTNERING WITH ST. PAULS CHILDREN'S FOUNDATION'S KHAKI'S FOR KIDS PROGRAM, WHICH DISTRIBUTES SCHOOL UNIFORMS AND SHOES TO LOCAL CHILDREN. OTHER COMMUNITY PARTNERS INCLUDE THE LITERACY COUNCIL, ARC OF EAST TEXAS, BETHESDA HEALTH CLINIC, MEALS ON WHEELS, ALZHEIMER'S ALLIANCE, TYLER ISD FOUNDATION, THE MENTORING ALLIANCE, CHILDREN'S ADVOCACY CENTER, HABITAT FOR HUMANITY, AND TEXAS ADAPTIVE AQUATICS.

PROGRAM SERVICE EXPENSES FOR MEETINGS, CONFERENCES AND TRAINING OF MEMBERS AS THEY RELATE TO PROGRAMS SUPPORTED BY THE ORGANIZATION.

HELD ANNUAL GIRL POWER EVENT, AN EVENT FOR SIXTH GRADE GIRLS FOCUSED ON THE GIRL POWER PILLARS OF SELF-VALUE, CIVIC ENGAGEMENT, EDUCATION, AND FUTURE PLANNING. JUNIOR LEAGUE VOLUNTEERS HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO INVEST IN YOUNG GIRLS AT A UNIQUE TIME IN THEIR LIVES. THE EVENT HAD 250 ATTENDEES COMING FROM SMITH COUNTY MIDDLE SCHOOLS, AND FEATURED SEVEN SPEAKERS WHO COVERED TOPICS RANGING FROM COLLEGE ADMISSIONS, TO ONLINE SAFETY, TO SKIN CARE, TO ZUMBA.
