Organizations Filed Purposes: To promote economic development in economically disadvantaged areas of McLennan County, TX, by providing financing for new and growing businesses that create jobs and economic activity not otherwise available through traditional financing sources. It will seek certification by the United States Treasury Department as a Community Development Financial Institution and financial aid in carrying out its mission.

The organization was organized as a community nonprofit corporation to become certified as a Community Development Financial Institution by the U.S. Treasury Department. Its mission is to make financing available to small businesses who do not have access to traditional sources of capital.

McLennan Community Investment Fund (McCIF) was organized to become a Community Development Financial Institution as certified by the Community Development Financial Institutions Fund of the United States Treasury Department. To achieve certification, it must be a "financing entity", that is, in the business of making loans. The target market for the Organization is small business owners who have not had access to capital provided by traditional financing institutions such as banks, savings & loans, and credit unions. To achieve status as a financing entity, McCIF began making loans on November 3, 2020, and made a total of four loans in November and December of 2020 in the total amount of $25,500. The revenue shown above represents interest on those loans collected during 2020. The lending program is McCIF's only program activity.
