THE CHERISH FAMILIES ORGANIZATION IS COMMITTED TO SUPPORTING PEOPLE IN UNDERSERVED COMMUNITIES BY PROVIDING ACCESS TO RESOURCES AND SERVICES THAT EMPOWER INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES IN BEING WHOLE AND MAKING CHOICES THAT WORK FOR THEIR SPECIFIC NEEDS.
IN 2019, CHERISH FAMILIES SERVED 830 CLIENTS WITH 2,000 HOUSING SERVICES, INCLUDING RENT, RELOCATION, UTILITIES, EMERGENCY HOUSING, AND 9,700 DIFFERENT ADVOCACY AND SUPPORT SERVICES, INCLUDING BASIC NEEDS, COURT ACCOMPANIMENT, AND PEER MENTORING FOR SURVISORS OF DOMESTIC VIOLENCE, SEXUAL ASSAULT, AND OTHER CRIMES.
TRAINED 15 GOVERNMENT AND NON-GOVERNMENT AGENCIES IN PROVIDING SERVICES TO SPECIFIC UNDERSERVED POPULATIONS. CULTURAL COMPETENCE TRAINED AND CONTRACTED WITH LICENSED MENTAL HEALTH PROVIDERS TO PROVIDE OVER 5,400 THERAPY SERVICE HOURS TO CLIENTS.
HELD 7 COMMUNITY EDUCATION EVENTS. HELD A CHRISTMAS COMMUNITY CRAFT AND GAME FAIR FOR FAMILIES TO ENCOURAGE FAMILY TIME AND INTERACTION. THIS EVENT WAS ATTENDED BY OVER 450 PEOPLE. PROVIDED CHRISTMAS GIFTS TO 349 PEOPLE. HELD A WEEKLY YOGA CLASS, PAINT NIGHT , COMMUNITY CREEK VALLEY HEALTH FAIR, AND FINANCIAL LITERACY CLASSES. HELD A QPR SUICIDE PREVENTION TRAINING AND GUARDIANSHIP WORKSHOP. WE HAD 1,196 HOURS OF VOUNTEER SERVICE.
