Sponsered an International Conference on Antiviral Research held May 2019 in Baltimore, Maryland. Attended by 244 members and students from 25 countries (163 members and students from the United States), many of whom presented their latest research on antivirals. There were also 24 invited speakers, 15 from the US.
Provided information to memebers, potential memebers, and other interested individuals about the Society,its activites, its annual Anitviral Research conference and other related conferences thru newsletters, emails, and a website. In 2019 there were 246 members from 26 different countries (146 from the United States).
Provided education for young investigators by awarding travel support for 33 graduate students, post-docs, and other young investigators from many foreign countries to attend the annual International Conference and by making small cash awards to 10 winners of competititon for young investigarots who presented thier research at the conference. Also, sponsored cash awards to four senior members of the Society for their contributing research over a number of years.
