Serving Utah and the Western U.S., UFOMT presents a quality opera and musical season each year, but was unable to have a typical season during the year ended September 30, 2020 due to COVID-19 considerations. During the 2019 fiscal year there were 140 classic films shown at the Utah Theatre from October 2019 through September 2020. They also produced the Annual Utah High School Musical Theatre Awards program, which entailed UFOMT sending judges to 50 different school to judge their high school musicals, and then providing a virtual awards show to announce the winners. Additionally, UFOMT annually sends trained musicians, artisans, and actors into classrooms (generally over 100 of them, some of which was done virtually for the fiscal year given COVID-19 considerations) throughout Utah to facilitate elementary and middle school children to write, produce, and perform their own original operas and songs.
