Organizations Filed Purposes: THE MISSION OF WEBER PATHWAYS IS TO PLAN, PROMOTE, CONSTRUCT, AND PROTECT A NETWORK OF PUBLIC PATHWAYS, TRAILS, AND RELATED OPEN SPACES FOR NON- MOTORIZED USERS THROUGHOUT THE GREATER WEBER COUNTY AREA.

2019 PROGRAM ACCOMPLISHMENTS DURING 2019, WEBER PATHWAYS WAS BUSY FINISHING EXISTING PROJECTS AND PLANNING NEW PROJECTS FOR 2019 AND BEYOND. WOLF CREEK EDEN PATHWAY WAS A PROJECT WE WERE EXCITED AND PROUD TO COMPLETE. THIS PROJECT WAS A 500,000+ PROJECT IN PARTNERSHIP WITH WEBER COUNTY AND UDOT TO BRING A MUCH NEEDED PATHWAY FROM WOLF CREEK RESORT TO EDEN VILLAGE. THE 2+ MILE PATHWAY HAS PROVIDED A SAFER WAY FOR FAMILIES AND RESIDENCES TO MOVE AROUND THE AREA AND TO ENJOY THE COMMUNITY. IN AUGUST 2019, WE HAD A RIBBON CUTTING CEREMONY WITH MEMBERS OF THE WEBER COUNTY COMMUNITY. DURING THE SUMMER, WE PARTNERED WITH THE UNITED STATES FOREST SERVICE (USFS) TO HELP IMPROVE THE MIDDLE FORK OF UPPER WHEELER CREEK TRAIL BETWEEN THE GREEN POND AND ART NORD TRAILHEADS. THIS TRAIL IS A HIGHLY TRAFFICKED AREA WHICH WAS GETTING REALLY ROUGH. OUR ORGANIZATION HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO HELP MARK A POTENTIAL ROUTE AND WITH A GRANT PROCURED BY THE USFS, OUR ORGANIZATION WILL BEGIN WORK IN SPRING 2020. WITH ANOTHER USFS PARTNERSHIP, WE SUCCESSFULLY REROUTED AND REHABILITATED THE EAST FORK TRAIL OF WHEELER CREEK. A PROFESSIONAL TRAIL CREW WITH EQUIPMENT WAS HIRED FOR 8 WEEKS TO REHABILITATE THE TREAD AND DO MINOR TRAIL REROUTES TO IMPROVE THE TRAIL SUSTAINABILITY. THIS WAS A 4-MILE SECTION OF TRAIL WORK WHICH COST 63,000 AND WAS FUNDED WITH A WEBER COUNTY RAMP GRANT. IN 2019, WE HIRED A UTAH CONSERVATION CREW TO CONTINUE TO TAKE THE LEAD OF PUNCTURE VINE CONTROL AND GOAT HEAD WEEDS ALONG THE WEBER RIVER PARKWAY, RAIL TRAIL AND PINEVIEW LOOP PATHWAY. THIS WORK WAS SUPPORTED BY A WEBER COUNTY RAMP GRANT. WEBER PATHWAYS WAS ABLE TO BEGIN SOME MUCH NEEDED ENGINEERING FOR THE WEBER RIVER RESTORATION AND BLACKNER'S BEND PROJECTS. IN 2020, WE WILL MOVE FORWARD WITH HEAVY MACHINERY CONSTRUCTION AND PERMITTING. THIS IS PART OF A LARGER PROJECT WHICH WE ESTIMATE TO BE COMPLETED IN 3-5 YEARS DEPENDING ON FUNDING. IN NORTH FORK PARK LOCATED IN WEBER COUNTY, OUR ORGANIZATION HAS PROVIDED NEEDED TRAIL MAINTENANCE AND TRAIL BUILDING. THESE PROJECTS WERE NEEDED TO ASSIST WITH THE GROWTH IN THE AREA AND TO PROVIDE US A WAY TO HELP DISPERSE TRAIL USERS ACROSS THE COUNTY. WITH A DONATED CREW FROM POWDER MOUNTAIN, WE FLAGGED AND CREATED A NEW BEGINNER HIKING AND BIKING TRAIL THAT CONNECTS THE 365 TRAIL WITH SOME MORE ADVANCED TRAILS LIKE MULE SHOE. IN ADDITION, WE WORKED ON GETTING ESTIMATES ON THE ENGINEERING COST OF DRAWING UP PLANS TO BUILD A CONNECTING TRAIL ON THE PINEVIEW LOOP PATHWAY BETWEEN WINTERS GROVE AND OLD SNOWBASIN ROAD. IN 2019, WE COMPLETED A TOTAL OF 10 NEW MILES OF NATURAL SURFACE TRAIL AND 2.5 MILES OF ASPHALT SURFACE TRAIL. OUR TOTAL SPEND FOR 2019 WAS 511,652 WITH 383,229 GOING TO NEW CONSTRUCTION AND 128,423 GOING TOWARDS MAINTENANCE.
