Organizations Filed Purposes: THE MISSION OF THE PARK CITY SUMMIT COUNTY ARTS COUNCIL IS TO PROMOTE, SUPPORT, AND STRENGTHEN ARTS AND CULTURE IN PARK CITY AND SUMMIT COUNTY BY 1) CONDUCTING MARKETING ACTIVITIES SHOWCASING ARTS AND CULTURE ACTIVITIES, AMENITIES, AND ARTISTS TO VISITORS AND RESIDENTS, 2) PRODUCING PROGRAMMING THAT BRINGS THE COMMUNITY TOGETHER THROUGH ARTS AND CULTURE, 3) SUPPORTING THE DEVELOPING OF PUBLIC ART IN THE COMMUNITY, AND 4) OVERSEEING PLANNING AND ADVOCACY ACTIVITIES TO SUSTAIN AND GROW ARTS AND CULTURE IN THE COMMUNITY.

1. CULTURAL TOURISM / MARKETING AND PUBLIC RELATIONS O MARKETING CAMPAIGNS THE ARTS COUNCIL LAUNCHED A SERIES OF QUARTERLY DIGITAL CAMPAIGNS TO PROMOTE THE VARIETY OF ARTS AND CULTURAL EVENTS IN PARK CITY AND SUMMIT COUNTY. CONTENT INCLUDED INTERNET ADVERTISING, BOOSTED SOCIAL MEDIA POSTS, AND A DEDICATED SET OF WEB PAGES WITH DETAILED INFORMATION ON THE CULTURAL TOURISM ACTIVITIES AVAILABLE FOR VISITORS. WE USED BANNER ADS ON CULTURAL TOURISM SITES IN TARGETED MARKETS ACROSS THE COUNTRY, PROMOTED A SERIES OF TARGETED EVENTS FROM OUR PARTNER ORGANIZATIONS, AND USED PAID SEARCH TO OPTIMIZE REACH TO TARGETED AUDIENCES. O SOCIAL MEDIA WE HAVE A STRONG SOCIAL MEDIA PRESENCE WITH 14,000+ FACEBOOK FOLLOWERS AND A GROWING INSTAGRAM FEED OF 1,000+ FOLLOWERS. BOTH REFLECT IMAGERY AND CREATIVE CONTENT HIGHLIGHTING OUR COMMUNITY'S ARTS AND CULTURAL ACTIVITY. WE ALSO HAVE AN ACTIVE TWITTER STREAM TO PROVIDE NEWS AND EVENTS. WE WILL CONTINUE TO BUILD THESE CHANNELS TO EXPAND OUR REACH AND ENGAGE WITH OUR AUDIENCE. O WEBSITE OUR MARKETING AND SOCIAL MEDIA CAMPAIGNS SIGNIFICANTLY INCREASED THE NUMBER OF VISITORS TO OUR WEBSITE IN THE PAST YEAR. THE SITE, WHICH WAS RELAUNCHED IN MARCH 2017, SERVES AS A CLEARINGHOUSE AND PLATFORM TO PROMOTE OUR ARTS AND CULTURAL PROGRAMS AND EVENTS, OFFER INFORMATION TO ARTISTS ABOUT OPEN CALLS AND CLASSES, AND TELL STORIES ABOUT PARK CITY AND SUMMIT COUNTY ARTS AND CULTURE ASSETS. O EARNED MEDIA WE CONTINUE TO UTILIZE LOCAL MEDIA OUTLETS SUCH AS KPCW TO PROMOTE PARTNER AND SIGNATURE EVENTS AND ACTIVITIES. MANY OF OUR PROGRAMS WERE THE FOCUS OF ARTICLES IN THE PARK RECORD, PARK CITY MAGAZINE, AND BIG LIFE MAGAZINE. O MONTHLY NEWSLETTERS WE CONTINUED TO RELEASE TWO MONTHLY NEWSLETTERS TO A MAILING LIST OF APPROXIMATELY 900 CHAMBER MEMBERS, UTAH MEDIA, ARTISTS, ARTS AND CULTURAL ORGANIZATIONS, AND KEY COMMUNITY CONTACTS. ONE IS DEDICATED TO ARTS AND CULTURE HAPPENINGS AND THE OTHER IS FOCUSED ON RESOURCES AND OPPORTUNITIES FOR OUR LOCAL CREATIVE COMMUNITY. 2. COMMUNITY PROGRAMMING O SUMMIT ARTS SHOWCASE IN JULY, WE HELD OUR ANNUAL SUMMIT ARTS SHOWCASE TO SUPPORT LOCAL ARTISTS AND PROVIDE AN OPPORTUNITY FOR THEM TO PRESENT THEIR WORK. THE SHOWCASE IS THE ONLY FINE ART SHOW AND SALE HELD IN EASTERN SUMMIT COUNTY. THIS YEAR MARKED THE 8TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE EVENT, AND WE INCLUDED FOOD TRUCKS, ONSITE MUSIC, AND INTERACTIVE ART ACTIVITIES. TWENTY ARTISTS PARTICIPATED WHICH INCLUDED A NUMBER OF NEW AND EMERGING ARTISTS AS WELL AS ESTABLISHED TALENT KNOWN THROUGHOUT PARK CITY AND SUMMIT COUNTY. NEARLY 500 PEOPLE ATTENDED INCLUDING LOCALS FROM SUMMIT COUNTY AND VISITORS FROM SALT LAKE, SANDY, OGDEN, HEBER, AND MIDWAY ALONG WITH VISITORS FROM CALIFORNIA, ARKANSAS, IDAHO, ILLINOIS, FLORIDA, AND PENNSYLVANIA. O SUMMIT COUNTY FAIR ART SHOW IN AUGUST, WE ONCE AGAIN HOSTED THE SUMMIT COUNTY FAIR FINE ARTS SHOW, WHICH WAS SHOWCASED IN THE NEWLY CONSTRUCTED LEDGES CENTER. WE HAD 80 (UP FROM 63 IN 2017) LOCAL ARTISTS SUBMIT 153 PIECES IN FINE ART AND PHOTOGRAPHY CATEGORIES. DUE TO ITS NEW CENTRAL LOCATION, OVER 3,000 PEOPLE VISITED THE EXHIBIT. WE WORKED WITH THE SUMMIT COUNTY PUBLIC ART ADVISORY BOARD TO RECOMMEND A YOUTH AND ADULT PIECE FOR PURCHASE BY COUNTY COUNCIL TO INCLUDE AS A PERMANENT PART OF THEIR PUBLIC ART COLLECTION. O PARTNERSHIP PROGRAMMING 1) PCPAA: WE CONTINUE TO PARTNER WITH THE PCPAA AND SWANER PRESERVE AND ECOCENTER TO PLAN, PUBLICIZE, AND PRODUCE THE ANNUAL ART ELEVATED ART SHOW WHERE TWENTY LOCAL ARTISTS SHOW AND SELL ARTWORK. ARTISTS FROM OAKLEY, KAMAS, WANSHIP, HENEFER, AND PARK CITY WERE REPRESENTED. THE 2018 EVENT WAS HELD DECEMBER 14-16, AND WE HAD 500 GUESTS VISIT THE SHOW. 2) MONSTER DRAWING RALLY: WE PRODUCED OUR SECOND ANNUAL PARK CITY MONSTER DRAWING RALLY ON MAY 31, 2018 WHERE 30+ ARTISTS WORKED IN 50 MINUTE CYCLES TO CREATE REAL-TIME WORKS OF ART THAT WERE SOLD FOR AN ACCESSIBLE FIXED PRICE TO BUILD NEW RELATIONSHIPS BETWEEN OUR COMMUNITY AND VISUAL ARTISTS AND TO BREAK DOWN PERCEIVED BARRIERS TO COLLECTING ART. 3)LATINO ARTS FESTIVAL: THE ARTS COUNCIL PARTNERED ONCE AGAIN WITH THE CHRISTIAN CENTER OF PARK CITY TO SUPPORT THE PLANNING AND PRODUCTION OF THE THIRD ANNUAL LATINO ARTS FESTIVAL. WHICH WAS HELD ON JUNE 16 & 17. OVER 1,000 PEOPLE ATTENDED TO CELEBRATE THE TRADITIONS AND HERITAGE OF OUR LATINO COMMUNITY. 4) PARK CITY INSTITUTE: WE CONTINUED A CONVERSATION SERIES CALLED FIRST AND THEN WITH THE PARK CITY INSTITUTE TO CONNECT THEIR WINTER MAIN STAGE PERFORMANCES TO WORK AND ACTION IN OUR COMMUNITY. 5) 2019 WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS ACTIVATION: AIMING TO INTEGRATE ARTS AND CULTURE INTO THE 2019 SNOWBOARD, FREESTYLE, AND FREESKI WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS AND BRING ART AND RECREATION TOGETHER, WE RELEASED A YOUTH FILM CONTEST CALLED BREAKING BOUNDARIES IN THE SPRING OF 2018 IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE U.S. SKI & SNOWBOARD ASSOCIATION AND THE PARK CITY FILM SERIES. A WINNER AND RUNNER-UP WERE ANNOUNCED ON OCTOBER 1. THE WINNING FILM WAS AIRED AT SELECT 2019 WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP EVENTS. 6) COALVILLE COMMUNITY ARTS DAY: WE HAVE PARTNERED WITH NORTH SUMMIT SCHOOL DISTRICT AND SUMMIT COUNTY HEALTH TO LAUNCH A COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT ART PROJECT AND EVENT IN CELEBRATION OF MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS MONTH THIS UPCOMING MAY. O BRANDED PC THIS PAST YEAR, WE ELEVATED BRANDED PC TO NEW HEIGHTS BY EXPANDING OUR POP-UP SHOP MODEL SPOTLIGHTING LOCAL CREATIVE MAKERS AND THEIR STORIES. 44 SUMMIT COUNTY MAKERS SOLD PRODUCT DECEMBER 18-22 AT THE ROCKWELL ROOM ON MAIN STREET. IN PARALLEL WITH THIS EVENT, WE HOSTED PANEL TALKS IN PARTNERSHIP WITH PANDOLABS TO PROVIDE AN EDUCATIONAL FORUM FOR OUR LOCAL EMERGING ENTREPRENEURS TO DEVELOP PROFESSIONALLY. WORKSHOPS AND A SINGER SONGWRITER SERIES WERE ALSO A PART OF THE BRANDED PC EXPERIENCE, GIVING OUR LOCAL CREATIVES AN OPPORTUNITY TO SHARE THEIR CREATIVE SKILLS WITH THE COMMUNITY. 1,000+ PEOPLE VISITED THE SHOWROOM, DRAWING AN INCREASED NUMBER OF TOWN VISITORS AND SECOND HOMEOWNERS. O ART ON THE TRAILS IN SEPTEMBER, WE LAUNCHED A PILOT PROJECT CALLED ART ON THE TRAILS IN PARTNERSHIP WITH BASIN RECREATION THAT FEATURED MULTIPLE POP-UP CREATIVE PERFORMANCES AS GUESTS TRAVELED THROUGH A LOCAL TRAIL. THE EVENT HIGHLIGHTED DANCE, CLASSICAL MUSIC, FOLK MUSIC, SINGER SONGWRITERS, AND SPOKEN WORD POETRY. IT WAS FREE AND OPEN TO THE PUBLIC. THE GOAL WAS TO PROVIDE A PLATFORM FOR LOCAL ARTISTS TO PERFORM, TO INTEGRATE ART AND NATURE, AND TO PROMOTE ART ACCESSIBILITY TO PEOPLE OF ALL AGES, DEMOGRAPHICS, AND INCOMES. OVER 150 PEOPLE ATTENDED THE EVENT, AND DUE TO THE SUCCESS, WE ARE PLANNING FOR A SECOND YEAR OF THE PROGRAM IN AUGUST 2019. O PUBLIC ART PROGRAMMING 1) PARK CITY PUBLIC ART ADVISORY BOARD (PCPAAB): WE CONTINUED TO SERVE AS AN ADVISOR AND LIAISON TO THE PCPAAB, ATTENDING MONTHLY MEETINGS, SUPPORTING THEIR VISIONING AND STRATEGIC PLANNING WORK, AND HELPING CONNECT THEIR WORK AND PRIORITIES TO OTHER COMMUNITY ARTS AND CULTURE ACTIVITIES. 2) SUMMIT COUNTY PUBLIC ART ADVISORY BOARD (SCPAAB): THE ARTS COUNCIL ASSUMED ADMINISTRATION OF SCPAAB IN AUGUST OF 2017, MANAGING THE PLANNING, OPERATIONS, AND OUTREACH FOR THE GROUP. THIS PAST YEAR WE SUPPORTED THE BOARD IN THE EXECUTION OF MULTIPLE PROJECTS, INCLUDING A YOUTH ENGAGEMENT STREET ART PROJECT CALLED THE FUTURE IS NOW. WE INVITED BISCO SMITH, AN INTERNATIONALLY KNOWN STREET ARTIST FROM BROOKLYN, NY TO COME TEACH WORKSHOPS AND PRODUCE A MURAL IN COLLABORATION WITH SUMMIT COUNTY YOUTH. OVER 60 LOCAL YOUTH PARTICIPATED IN THE INSTALLATION OF THE MURAL WHICH REFLECTED A YOUTH-ORIENTED VISION OF COMMUNITY AND THEIR HOPES FOR THE FUTURE. WE ALSO SUPPORTED THE INSTALLATION OF A NEW PUBLIC ART PIECE IN THE COUNTY'S SOUTH SUMMIT SERVICES BUILDING AND HELPED LAUNCH NEW POP-UP PERFORMANCES FOR THE ART PIANOS FOR ALL PROGRAM IN PARTNERSHIP WITH UTAH SYMPHONY | UTAH OPERA. 3. PLANNING AND ADVOCACY O PARK CITY MUNICIPAL ARTS AND CULTURE EFFORTS THE ARTS COUNCIL SUPPORTED THE PARK CITY MUNICIPAL CORPORATION (PCMC) STAFF AND COUNCIL ON THEIR EFFORTS TO MOVE ARTS AND CULTURE TO A TOP PRIORITY AND WORKED WITH THE CONSULTANTS THEY HIRED TO SCOPE A VISION FOR A NEW ARTS AND CULTURE DISTRICT IN PARK CITY. O FISCAL SPONSORSHIP WE SERVED AS A FISCAL SPONSOR FOR TWO LOCAL ORGANIZATIONS PURSUING FUNDING FOR THEIR ARTS AND CULTURE INITIATIVES. O PROJECT ABC CULTURAL PLAN FOR SUMMIT COUNTY WE CONTINUED TO MANAGE A LONG-TERM COMMUNITY-WIDE CULTURAL PLANNING PROCESS CALLED PROJECT ABC. THE CULTURAL PLAN WAS COMPLETED IN SPRING 2018 AND LAYS OUT A ROADMAP FOR THE FUTURE OF ARTS AND CULTURE IN PARK CITY/SUMMIT COUNTY. WE ARE CURRENTLY IN THE IMPLEMENTATION OVERSIGHT PHASE WITH AN EMPHASIS ON TRACKING PROGRESS, PUSHING KEY COLLECTIVE PRIORITIES FORWARD, AND MAINTAIN MOMENTUM THROUGH ONGOING COMMUNITY CONVENINGS AND A BI-ANNUAL ARTS SUMMIT.
