Organizations Filed Purposes: To promote the public welfare by advancing the quality of public governance through improved state and local policy making, preparation and dissemination of accurate and timely information, supporting well-informed public engagement and advocating ethical and transparent governance with the State of Utah.

Government Accountability: Alliance for a Better Utah educated Utahns on the statements and actions of their elected officials on a variety of issues, including Medicaid expansion, tax reform, and redistricting reform, among many others. Better Utah also published its annual Progress Report, collating and scoring votes on dozens of important bills from the legislative session and giving each representative and senator an overall grade corresponding to their adherence to progressive or conservative priorities.

Progressive Education and Advocacy: Alliance for a Better Utah used its expertise in paid and earned media to educate the public and bring attention to current issues, including, but not limited to, abortion, reproductive freedom, healthcare access and affordability, redistricting reform, medical cannabis, public education funding, and accountability issues, among many others.

2019 Legislative Session: Alliance for a Better Utah tracked the 45-day legislative session and informed residents of important issues being raised. We spoke in favor of good government issues, conducted media interviews, emailed supporters, etc. Better Utah tracked bills and provided information and education about proposed legislation to the public. Better Utah worked to organize various progressive groups to work more efficiently and collaboratively during the legislative session. Better Utah also provided weekly updates to constituents via email about the legislative session.
