Ballet West inspires and empowers a broad community locally and globally through exposure, training and education on the art of ballet.
Artistic and production: Ballet West continued to perform locally and tour to sold out audiences. The Company successful season featured a mix of classic storybook and repertoire ballets, and thrilled audiences with world class dancing and production.
Academy: Ballet West Academy realized enrollment growth at each of its four campuses. Students from all campuses had the opportunity to perform with the main company, providing them with a performance experience which is unique for schools of dance in the State of Utah.
Education and outreach: Ballet West continued its commitment to providing quality education programs that allow teachers and students of all ages to experience the joy and magic of live ballet, regardless of financial or geographic barriers. The programs are supported by generous contributions from public-minded corporations, individuals, foundations, government agencies, and by a broad-based community support. This year, students and teachers attended performances through in-theater student presentations and special needs Nutcracker performances at the Janet Quinney Lawson Capitol Theatre, giving these audiences an amazing touch point to the art form of ballet. Altogether, over 100,000 students, teachers, and community members were reached though our Education and Outreach initiatives.
