Organizations Filed Purposes:
STRUCTURAL ENGINEERS ASSOCIATION OF UTAH WAS ORGANIZED TO PROMOTE ACQUAINTANCE AND UNDERSTANDING AMONG STRUCTURAL ENGINEERS, PROMOTE TECHNICAL EXPERTISE, PROMOTE LEGISLATION AND CODES RELATING TO STRUCTURAL ENGINEERING, INCREASE PUBLIC AWARENESS OF STRUCTURAL ENGINEERING, DISCOURAGE UNETHICAL AND DETRIMENTAL PRACTICE, AND PROMOTE HIGH STANDARDS OF STRUCTURAL ENGINEERING IN THE BEST INTERESTS OF CLIENTS, COMMUNITY, PUBLIC AND THE PROFESSION.
SEAU'S PURPOSE IS TO PROVIDE EDUCATION OPPORTUNITIES TO STRUCTURAL ENGINEERS ACROSS THE STATE OF UTAH. WE DO THIS BY HOSTING AN ANNUAL EDUCATION CONFERENCE AS WELL AS SEVERAL EVENING SEMINARS THAT ALLOW ENGINEERS TO EARN THE PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT HOURS THEY NEED TO MAINTAIN THEIR CERTIFICATIONS. WE ALSO PROVIDE THREE SCHOLARSHIPS A YEAR TO BYU, U OF U, AND USU TO ASPRING ENGINEERS. AND LAST, WE THROW AN OPENING SOCIAL EVENT EACH YEAR TO ALLOW ENGINEERS TO NETWORK AND CONNECT WITH OTHER ENGINEERS IN THE STATE.
